Job Summary
Motorola Solutions is seeking a dynamic and creative instructional designer and developer for its Global Education team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining product and sales training and documentation for Motorola Solutions’ technologies. Key responsibilities include performing needs analysis, creating various training assets like instructor guides, student workbooks, PowerPoints, and online modules. The designer will write concise technical content, utilize multimedia, simulations, and assessments, manage training assets in the LMS, and collaborate with SMEs and project managers to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
Must Have
- Perform needs analysis for courses of standard complexity and scope.
- Design, develop, and maintain training assets (instructor guides, student workbooks, powerpoints, online modules).
- Write concise, technical, and effective instructional content.
- Create and utilize multimedia elements, simulations, and assessments.
- Follow a scalable and repeatable process in content creation and maintenance.
- Manage and monitor training assets and courses in the LMS.
- Collaborate with SMEs to ensure technical accuracy and relevance.
- Manage a small portfolio of products.
- Certification in education, adult education, communications, instructional design, instructional technology, curriculum studies, or a related field.
- A minimum 1+ year of related experience.
Good to Have
- Fluent in English.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Good content organization and structuring skills.
- Some knowledge of ILT learning design and development models, adult learning principles, and delivery methods.
- Some knowledge of publishing tools and graphic editors such as Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Strong background in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience or interest in using generative AI tools (e.g., Google Gemini, ChatGPT, NotebookLM) in training content development or delivery.
- Aptitude to learn new technologies and software quickly.
- Ability to convey the meaning of complex concepts clearly to a broad audience.

Job Description
- Perform needs analysis for a course of standard complexity and scope.
- Design, develop, and maintain training assets that support partners, customers, and employees with their use of the MSI product suite, including, but not limited to, instructor guides, student workbooks, powerpoints, and online modules.
- Write concise, technical, and effective instructional content for a variety of deliverables, including lesson plans, guides, online content, and more.
- Create and utilize multimedia elements, simulations, and assessments to enhance the effectiveness of learning materials.
- Follow a scalable and repeatable process in the scoping, creation, and maintenance of content.
- Manage and monitor training assets and courses in the LMS.
- Collaborate with SMEs to ensure technical accuracy and relevance of content.
- Work closely with project managers to manage a small portfolio of products.
- Work closely with team leads to ensure training content is focused on the right content, filling knowledge gaps, and appropriate.
Basic Requirements
Qualifications
- Certification in education, adult education, communications, instructional design, instructional technology, curriculum studies, or a related field
- A minimum 1+ year of related experience
