Intern - Finance

Scopely is seeking a Finance Intern in Bangalore for a hybrid role. This position involves assisting the Finance team with journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and maintaining accurate ledger balances. Key responsibilities include performing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting monthly/quarterly close cycles, and preparing reports for audits. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, possess a basic understanding of accounting principles, and be proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Must Have

• Assist in preparing and posting journal entries
• Help ensure entries comply with company policies and accounting standards
• Support the accounting team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date ledger balances
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
• Support the team during monthly and quarterly close cycles
• Update reconciliation schedules and documentation files
• Assist in preparing reports, schedules, and audit requests
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
• Solid attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

Good to Have

• Familiarity with accounting systems (Oracle)

What You'll Be Doing:

• Assist in preparing and posting journal entries (accruals, reclasses, adjustments).
• Help ensure entries comply with company policies and accounting standards.
• Support the accounting team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date ledger balances.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations (prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, etc.).
• Support the team during monthly and quarterly close cycles.
• Update reconciliation schedules and documentation files.
• Assist in preparing reports, schedules, and audit requests.

What We're Looking For:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (Indian GAAP preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, basic formulas).
• Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

Bonus Points For:

• Familiarity with accounting systems (Oracle) is a plus.
