The Internal Control and Process Improvement Manager for Latin America is responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and supervising the internal control system for the region. Some of their main functions include supporting the organization in developing, implementing, and strengthening internal control procedures and policies, providing advice to plants and functional areas, evaluating and mitigating financial and operational risks, monitoring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations, and coordinating corrective actions resulting from internal or external audits. The main objective of the position is to strengthen the culture of control and mitigation of financial, operational, and compliance risks.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice corresponding to policies, procedures, and regulations applicable to plants and functional areas.
- Update, develop, and strengthen procedures.
- Develop and supervise the implementation of action plans resulting from internal or external audits.
- Participate in transformational and/or special projects, contributing risk and control perspectives.
- Conduct reviews of critical processes (financial and operational) and/or risk areas to support the identification and implementation of improvements.
- Coordinate and comply with SOX requirements (quarterly certification, annual documentation and validation).
- Participate in the organization and development of annual physical inventories to ensure their correct execution and reliability of results.
- Lead, develop, and supervise the regional internal control team, fostering continuous improvement and standardization.
Skills and knowledge:
- Graduate of Accounting, Finance or Administration career
- Minimum 5 years of experience in internal audit, internal control or risk management.
- At least 3 to 5 years in a leadership or team supervision position.
- Great analytical and strategic capacity.
- Effective leadership and teamwork.
- Problem-solving ability and focus.
- Oral and written ability to communicate assertively with different levels in the organization in English and Spanish. Professional ethics and confidentiality. Results orientation and continuous improvement.
