Your daily life

On a cutting-edge Bordeaux Campus, between ocean and vineyards, we design and develop systems, equipment, and services to ensure the success of our clients' airborne missions.

On the Bordeaux Campus site, the Thales AVS (Advanced Vision Systems) Design Office designs and develops the equipment necessary for flight avionics: displays, computers, and helmet-mounted sights for civil and military carriers.

In collaboration with the hardware teams, the intern will contribute to defining an electrical and optical interconnection standard to ensure the performance, reliability, and security of the developed products.

In this context, you will be involved in all activities related to the definition, qualification, and implementation of interconnection standards for AVS products:

  • Participate in the improvement and maintenance of internal aerospace electrical and optical connectivity standards (database, process for introducing new references, etc.).
  • Perform tests and measurements to verify the performance and reliability of the proposed solutions and integrate them into the standard.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to define the specifications of the necessary electrical and optical components.
  • Contribute to the development of a qualification plan for board-to-board connectors.
  • Participate in the research and analysis of existing technologies and standards in the field of electrical interconnection for AVS products.
  • Assist engineers and technicians during the setup of prototypes and the integration of electrical products into AVS systems.

Your profile

  • You are in your final year of Master's or an engineering program in the fields of mechanics, electronics, electrical, or aeronautics and are looking for a 6-month end-of-studies internship.
  • You have knowledge in electrical and mechanical engineering and in VBA for creating Excel macros.
  • You demonstrate curiosity, methodology, and organization to define and implement connector qualification principles.
