Job Description

This internship focuses on automating the continuous integration chain for a software solution within the ILG department at Thales. The intern will take charge of the existing CI/CD pipeline, propose improvements, gather requirements, and implement automated deployment of test environments. Key tasks include automating test means creation, developing an API for end-to-end tests, and enhancing user interfaces. The role involves close collaboration with architects, developers, and integrators, providing a concrete understanding of DEV/OPS fundamentals and software test automation in the Defense industry.
Good To Have:
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies or containerization platforms (Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Appreciation for scripting and test automation (RobotFramework, Playwright).
  • Ideally, a first experience in software development.
  • Passion for new technologies.
Must Have:
  • Be in the final year of an engineering school or equivalent with a specialization in computer science and networks.
  • Seeking a 6-month end-of-study internship.
  • Master Python or Bash, including basic syntax, data structures, control structures, and common libraries.
  • Master versioning tools (Git or GitHub).

Your daily life

The Gennevilliers Campus is the heart of design, development, and support activities for major defense systems: radio communications, resilient network and infrastructure systems, satellite communications, collaborative combat, and cybersecurity. Located north of Paris, it is quickly accessible by public transport.

You will join the ILG (Management Software Engineering) department to meet the needs of large-scale projects with high stakes for Thales and its clients.

Join the AERO Management team responsible for developing software for managing radio equipment configurations.

The objective of the internship is to automate the continuous integration chain of the software solution.

Your main missions will be:

  • Take over the existing CI/CD chain and propose improvements.
  • Gather and analyze needs as well as evolution requests.
  • Set up automated deployment of test environments.
  • Automate the creation of test means.
  • Develop an API for end-to-end tests.
  • Correct and improve the user interfaces (HMI) of the tool.
  • Present the progress of your work at each functional iteration.
  • Write and maintain the associated technical documentation.

You will be supported throughout the internship for the planning and reporting of your activities, as well as in your interactions with various stakeholders: architects, developers, integrators, and other project teams.

Your profile

Are you in your final year of engineering school or equivalent degree with a specialization in computer science and networks, and looking for a 6-month end-of-study internship?

Do you master Python or Bash, as well as basic syntax, data structures, control structures, and common libraries?

Do you also master versioning tools (Git or GitHub)?

Do you ideally have knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies or containerization platforms for application deployment (Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)?

Do you appreciate scripting and test automation (RobotFramework, Playwright) and do you ideally have a first experience in software development?

Are you passionate about new technologies?

Do you know how to work in a team, listen, share information, and are you rigorous and autonomous?
