Job Description

As a Microwave Line Engineer at Thales in Brest, you will join the HYPERFREQUENCIES repair line within the Customer Support Service. Your main responsibilities include performing complex microwave adjustments, tests, and repairs, providing technical support and functional supervision to technicians, leading action plans for technical issues, and ensuring the availability and validity of test equipment. You will also contribute to improving testability and escalating discrepancies to engineering.
Must Have:
  • Perform complex microwave adjustments, tests, and repairs according to reference documents and applicable standards.
  • Provide technical support and functional supervision to technicians.
  • Lead action plans on difficult technical points.
  • Provide technical support for repairs of the line sent to subcontractors and co-contractors.
  • Provide line support and escalate discrepancies to engineering and monitor corrections.
  • Lead actions related to testability, including specifying needs for test equipment.
  • Participate in the criticality analysis of test means.
  • Ensure the availability and validity of test equipment.
  • Propose improvements concerning testability.
  • Master's degree (Bac+5) in Engineering with Microwave options.
  • Experience in microwave technology, electronic boards, and measurement devices.
  • Experience in the aeronautics and/or defense sector.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Your daily life

The Brest site hosts our digital services activities as well as Thales' expertise in development, integration, and maintenance for maritime patrol and surveillance systems, electronic warfare, sonar systems, and airborne anti-submarine warfare, as well as our digital services activities.

Within the CSS (Customer Support Service) department at the Brest site, you will join the HYPERFREQUENCIES repair line as a Line Engineer (M/F).

Your missions:

Perform adjustments, microwave tests, and various complex repairs according to reference documents and applicable standards.

Provide support to technicians, in coordination with the activity manager:

  • Lead action plans on difficult technical points.
  • Provide functional supervision to technicians and actively participate in the team's technical skill development.
  • Provide technical support for repairs of the line sent to subcontractors and co-contractors.
  • Provide line support and escalate discrepancies to engineering and monitor corrections.
  • Report bench failures.
  • Monitor the progress of technical product issues.

Lead actions related to testability:

  • Specify needs in terms of testability (test means, APM, tools), potentially leading to an investment request, and participate in the validation of means put into service.
  • Participate in the criticality analysis of test means with the repair lines.
  • Ensure the availability and validity of the means.
  • Propose improvements concerning testability.

You have a Bac+5 (Master's degree) in Engineering with Microwave options and experience in:

  • Microwave,
  • Electronic boards,
  • Measurement devices
