Who will you be working with?

You will be part of the dynamic and collaborative Direct sourcing team at LKZ plant, a key function supporting Wabtec’s manufacturing operations. Our team is dedicated to ensuring seamless material flow, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Sourcing, Quality, and IT to drive impactful improvements in procurement processes.

How will you make a difference?

As a Inventory & Materials Process Excellence Leader you will be responsible for leading initiatives to optimize inventory management and materials flow across LKZ operations. You will develop and implement best practices to improve inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and warehouse efficiency. Your role will be pivotal in driving continuous improvement in materials handling, storage, and replenishment processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align inventory strategies with production and sourcing plans, ensuring operational excellence and cost efficiency.

What do we want to know about you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory management, materials planning, or warehouse operations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, 1C, or similar) and advanced Excel/data analysis tools.
• Fluent in English (writing, reading, speaking, listening).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Strong understanding of lean principles, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing or the locomotive industry.
• Legal authorization to work in Kazakhstan is required.

What will your typical day look like?

• Lead initiatives to optimize inventory management and materials flow across LKZ operations.
• Develop and implement best practices for inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and warehouse efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement in materials handling, storage, and replenishment processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align inventory strategies with production and sourcing plans.
• Analyze inventory data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with Wabtec policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in inventory operations.
• Support ERP system enhancements and data integrity related to inventory and materials transactions.
• Monitor and report key inventory KPIs including inventory forecast, turns, and obsolescence.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory discrepancies and material flow disruptions.
