Business Unit Overview:

The Performance Measurement & Attribution team is responsible for the outcome and interpretation of portfolio & benchmark return analytics in Blackrock, critical to insights that enable investment and risk teams to make informed decisions. This includes generating and interpreting analytical outcomes, leading product & strategy level support, acting as a centralized source and applying analytical tools and automated solutions that standardize calculators & methodologies, reduce time-to-market and bring consistency across our analytics.

The demand for accurate, timely & informational performance data is central to many of the organizational core objectives, and are core to the analytical and global client service culture of the team. Products covered by the team are the spectrum of Mutual Funds, ETF’s, segregated clients and investment asset classes including Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, Equity and Alternatives.

As a member of PMA, take part in the story and take ownership as a performance expert. We are responsible for investment performance and attribution analysis globally across Fixed Income, Equity and Multi-Asset strategies. You get to work with multiple business divisions, including the iShares Equity Product suite, Institutional Equity, Beta Strategies, and Fixed Income products. The team focuses on using technology and project management to improve existing processes to optimize content delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with teams globally to present a consistent client experience catalyzing a common culture.
  • Lead and oversee accurate and timely performance reporting across multiple fund groups, ensuring smooth data flow between systems and teams.
  • Drive resolution of residuals using the Aladdin platform and proactively identify improvements in execution.
  • Deepen expertise in internal analytical systems (Aladdin) to investigate complex client inquiries and support evolving business needs.
  • Mentor and guide junior colleagues, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration. Lead cross-regional transitions and changes to reporting platforms, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Champion efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation and standardization efforts, employing BlackRock’s technology platform.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong conceptual and practical understanding of performance and attribution concepts
  • Strong domain knowledge in Multi-Asset, Fixed Income, and Equity instruments, along with general performance principles.
  • 5–8 years of experience in Performance and Attribution within the asset management industry
  • Experience in leading reporting platform migrations and handling cross-regional transitions.
  • Advanced programming skills in SQL, Python, and Power BI; passion for learning new technologies and deepening Aladdin attribution expertise.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent; prior experience with business modeling techniques and/or attribution tools (CFA or CIPM designation a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and lead initiatives; strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Forward-thinking and passionate about outcomes; able to synthesize information, summarize issues, and drive solutions.
  • Proven success in mentoring junior colleagues and building team capability.
  • Experience with performance tools and external fund administrators a plus
