Job Summary
Progress is seeking an IT AI Engineer to join their IT Operations team. This role involves identifying automation opportunities, developing reusable components, and implementing AI-enabled workflows and agents. The engineer will integrate AI models into existing systems, support monitoring, and collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance and alignment with enterprise architecture. This hands-on role requires experience in workflow automation and AI integrations to drive transformative processes across the organization.
Must Have
- Build AI-driven agents, automations and integrations using tools such as Power Automate, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, APIs, and enterprise AI services.
- Develop reusable workflows, templates, and connectors that support scaling across business functions.
- Integrate AI models and copilots into existing systems (CRM, HRIS, internal apps, databases).
- Support monitoring and incident management for AI workflows—implement logging, error handling, and performance checks.
- Participate in new AI project intake and evaluation discussions, providing feasibility insights and estimation.
- Collaborate with Security, Legal, and the Central AI team to ensure all solutions follow governance, data protection, and compliance guidelines.
- Support the End User Services AI concierge desk by troubleshooting complex automation issues escalated from Tier 1 support.
- Maintain documentation for all automations, APIs, integrations, and deployment processes.
- Partner with cloud and infrastructure teams to ensure automations are aligned with enterprise architecture and capacity.
- Contribute to internal enablement efforts, including demos, workshops, and technical coaching for AI champions.
- Continuously evaluate and test the business value of new AI features released by Microsoft and other enterprise vendors; incorporate enhancements into existing solutions and processes.
- 3–6 years of experience in workflow automation, integration engineering, or similar technical roles.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools (Power Automate preferred) and scripting or low-code development.
- Understanding of AI-assisted workflows, LLM tooling, and enterprise AI integrations.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and basic integration patterns.
- Ability to translate business requirements into structured technical workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially in debugging automations and complex data flows.
Good to Have
- Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, AI Builder, Power Apps), Copilot Studio.
- Azure services: Azure OpenAI, Logic Apps, Azure Functions (basic exposure is acceptable).
- GitHub Copilot or similar coding-assist tools.
- Understanding of data governance, identity/access principles, and secure integration practices.
- Ability to document solutions clearly and build knowledge-sharing resources.

Partnering within the larger scope of the IT Operations team, and working closely to serve our internal customers, they’ll help identify automation opportunities, develop reusable components, and bring AI-enabled workflows and agents to life. Their work will support multiple business functions —building the connective tissue between enterprise data and solutions, AI capabilities, and transformative processes.
This person will collaborate with AI champions, power users and less technical employees to scale adoption, provide technical guidance and enablement, and support and continuously improve our supporting infrastructure. This is a hands-on engineering role with high visibility and immediate impact across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
