Job Description

As a Junior QA Automation Engineer, you will be an integral part of the full-stack software engineering team, contributing to the strategy, design, development, and rigorous testing of the product. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent performance, reliability, and scalability of the Mosaic One API. Responsibilities include implementing test cases in line with the QA strategy and best practices for automated test coverage across front-end, back-end, and infrastructure. You will also assist in feature development, embed quality practices, design and maintain automated test frameworks, conduct code reviews, and investigate issues to drive quick resolutions. Learning and growing alongside senior engineers will be a key aspect of this role.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 1 year of software engineering and QA experience
  • Ability to support feature development, integration, and QA
  • Proficiency in a modern programming language (JavaScript, Python)
  • Skilled in creating automated scripts (Python, Bash)
  • Basic understanding of testing concepts (unit, integration)
  • Exposure to testing frameworks (Jest, PyTest, Cypress, Selenium)
  • Understanding of performance and security testing concepts
  • Experience with SaaS application testing
  • Comfortable engaging with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • B2-level English proficiency
  • Strong desire to learn and grow

About the Role 
In this junior-level position, you will be a part of the full-stack software engineering team, driving the strategy, design, development, and rigorous testing of our product. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure Mosaic One API consistently meets and exceeds performance, reliability, and scalability expectations. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Implement test cases in accordance with the QA strategy, and best practices, ensuring robust automated test coverage across front-end, back-end, and infrastructure components. 

  • Actively assist and contribute to feature development, embedding best-in-class quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle. 

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks (e.g., Jest, PyTest, Selenium, Cypress). Integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to streamline the release process.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of code, designs, and tests, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality deliverables. 

  • Collaborate on deployment processes, verify builds, and work on efficient testing cycles to support iterative software releases. 

  • Investigate issues uncovered during testing, working with the wider team to drive quick resolutions and implement enhancements. 

  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop QA skills.

  • Receive guidance and code reviews from experienced team members.

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience. 

  • At least 1 year of hands-on software engineering and QA experience, including a eexperience participating in QA processes with guidance from senior team members. 

  • Demonstrated ability to support and contribute to feature development, integration, and QA efforts from inception through delivery. 

  • Basic proficiency with one modern programming language (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or similar). 

  • Skilled in creating and maintaining automated scripts in Python or Bash to bolster testing and automation efforts. 

  • Basic understanding of testing concepts (unit tests, integration tests).

  • Exposure to testing frameworks (Jest, PyTest, Cypress, Selenium).  

  • Understanding of performance testing or security testing concepts. 

  • Experience with SaaS applications testing, including Web GUI testing, performance validation, scalability testing (with auto-scaling disabled), and security testing. 

  • Hands-on experience with one or more contemporary test frameworks (e.g., Jest, PyTest, Selenium, Cypress, Robot Framework, SonarQube, Stryker) and enthusiasm for expanding automation coverage. 

  • Comfortable engaging with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. 

  • At least B2-level English proficiency. 

  • Strong desire to learn and grow in a team environment 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with Docker or similar tools to simplify deployment and testing processes. 

  • Experience working with AWS (EC2, API Gateway, S3, etc.) or equivalent cloud platforms.
