Bounteous is seeking a Lead Content Strategist for a contract role to expand their content strategy practice. This role involves delivering user-centered information architectures, content models, and content plans for various clients. The strategist will lead detailed content strategy deliverables, facilitate discovery activities, conduct research, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams. Key responsibilities include ensuring information security, producing cohesive strategy documents, and contributing to experience design standards. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience and a passion for creative problem-solving.
Good To Have:
  • BS/BA/BFA in content strategy, English, philosophy, communication, design, library science, or related fields.
  • Equivalent experience to a relevant degree.
  • Consulting or agency experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of CMS like AEM, Sitecore, Contentful.
  • In-depth knowledge of UX testing platforms.
  • Proficiency with Lucid, Miro, Figjam, Figma, Microsoft Suite.
Must Have:
  • Lead creation of detailed content strategy deliverables.
  • Produce cohesive strategy, research, and design documents.
  • Facilitate discovery activities like workshops and interviews.
  • Critique and apply discovery research findings.

Bounteous is looking for a Lead Content Strategist with a passion for creative problem solving. This is an opportunity to expand our overall content strategy practice by delivering user-centered information architectures, content models, content plans, and related deliverables for a variety of clients. The ideal person in this role knows how IA and content strategy can impact everything from user experience to content marketing to brand and business goals. The Lead Content Strategist is an inclusive collaborator and leader on a project team.

Project duration is (1.5 months contract)

Information Security Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
  • Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
  • Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead creation of detailed content-strategy deliverables with limited oversight; these may include: website and digital asset management (DAM) system information architectures and taxonomies/metadata schemas, with related documentation; content audits & inventories; content models; content governance plans; website migration plans; and research findings.
  • Produce cohesive strategy, research, and design documents that contextually address business needs, user needs, and best practices.
  • Facilitate discovery activities with limited oversight such as content workshops, stakeholder interviews, audits, expert reviews, competitive reviews, etc.
  • Critique discovery research findings and apply findings as appropriate to the solution.
  • Conduct research activities such as content testing, card sorting, taxonomy testing, persona development, and user journeys.
  • Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to create innovative, best-in-class, customer-centric solutions.
  • Contribute to the establishment of experience design standards, deliverables and methodologies within the organization.
  • Stay informed and share insights on digital best practices, trends, tools; participate in content strategy communities locally and nationally.
  • Participate in the planning and tracking of content strategy activities and deliverables across projects and accounts.
  • Substantially contribute to our culture and atmosphere, quality of work, and growth into the next generation of content strategists.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA/BFA in content strategy, English or philosophy, communication- and/or design-related fields, library science, or other information-related fields; or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years of experience as a content-strategy professional
  • Experience working closely with UX and UI designers, as well as copywriters, is required
  • Experience in digital asset management (DAM) system information architecture/folder structure definition and metadata-schema definition is required
  • Proven ability to create and lead content audits, content inventories, information structures and sitemaps, taxonomies, content models, content governance plans, website or DAM migration plans, user journeys, and process flows
  • Demonstrable experience presenting work to clients, facilitating and leading workshops, and moderating stakeholder interviews
  • Experience connecting content strategy activities to demonstrable user, business, and brand value
  • Ability to manage several high-profile projects simultaneously
  • Consulting/agency experience is strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of content management systems such as AEM, Sitecore, Contentful, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of UX testing platforms; Lucid/Miro/Figjam; and design and presentation software such as Figma and those in the Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to achieve desired outcomes and build strong alliances and relationships
  • Excellent listener with a passion for content strategy
