Kulfi Collective is seeking a Lead - Editorial Content & Cultural Insights to join their team in Mumbai. This role involves tracking and curating monthly cultural highlights, managing outreach with diverse cultural writers, and overseeing editorial programming. The ideal candidate will own the end-to-end editorial pipeline for Drip’s cultural intelligence output, from spotting signals to commissioning and editing long-form content, and packaging it for social media.
Must have:
  • Help identify trends in culture across categories (e.g., internet culture, music, media, dating etc).
  • Curate monthly trend highlights using Drip’s tracker and supplementary personal research.
  • Document signals with rationale, source links, and draft creative prompts for each.
  • Drive outreach to build a strong list of diverse culture writers with expertise in specific categories.
  • Continue to build out a list of topics driven by cultural moments, signals or noticeable trend shifts and match topics with specific culture writers.
  • Manage contributor onboarding, deadlines, contracts, payments, and maintain trackers.
  • Create contributor guidelines, story templates, and pitch decks; host intro calls with new writers.
  • Create a seamless and efficient system to manage submissions, deadlines, and serve as a liaison between Kulfi, Kulfi’s Editor
  • Conduct 1–2 brainstorming sessions with each contributor to refine angles and structure.
  • Provide consolidated editorial feedback and research support; cap review cycles at 1–2 iterations
  • Edit each long-form story including copy edits, sourcing experts, adding references, data, and secondary research.
  • Write short editorial essays exploring cultural moments or breaking down TLMs into smaller formats.
  • Translate each story into a 10–12 slide carousel with captions, tailored for LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Set overall visual language and creative direction; work with design to produce differentiated assets for each platform (long form + LinkedIn + IG).
  • Plan and maintain the editorial calendar across stories and social assets, aligned with cultural moments and business goals.
  • Oversee CMS operations: upload articles with imagery/metadata, coordinate with UI/UX and backend.
  • Run weekly performance audits with the social team; interpret platform metrics, recommend optimizations, and brainstorm new formats.
  • Ensure quality checks across all content (source credits, tags, alignments, placements).
  • 8 long-form stories (TLMs) per month: edit for structure, voice, and rigor; add sources, expert references, data and secondary research where needed.
  • 8 social carousels (10–12 slides each) + captions derived from each story – both for Instagram and Linkedin.
  • Cross-platform asset direction for Instagram, LinkedIn, Website per story; run final QC before publishing (tags, copy, alignment, placements).

About the role

At Kulfi Collective, we are on a mission to make the world (wide web) a brighter place, one incredible story at a time. We are looking for a cultural trends expert to track and curate monthly cultural highlights, manage outreach with diverse cultural writers, oversee editorial programming and writing with an eye for timely, compelling cultural insights.

You will own the end-to-end editorial pipeline for Drip’s cultural intelligence output: spotting signals, commissioning and editing long-form TLMs, packaging them for social, and programming releases against cultural moments. The remit includes trend curation, writer network management, editorial QA, calendar/programming, and workflow hygiene (trackers, uploads, weekly content audits). You will also be working closely with a Kulfi editor-at-large whose role is to shape the overall strategy of Drip Editorial and help with connecting you to a broader network of brands and cultural experts.

A day in the life of a Lead - Editorial Content & Cultural Insights

Cultural Trends Tracker (Monthly)

  • Help identify trends in culture across categories (e.g., internet culture, music, media, dating etc).
  • Curate monthly trend highlights using Drip’s tracker and supplementary personal research.
  • Document signals with rationale, source links, and draft creative prompts for each.

Cultural Writer & Topics List

  • Drive outreach to build a strong list of diverse culture writers with expertise in specific categories.
  • Continue to build out a list of topics driven by cultural moments, signals or noticeable trend shifts and match topics with specific culture writers.
  • Manage contributor onboarding, deadlines, contracts, payments, and maintain trackers.

Cultural Writer x Kulfi Liaison

  • Create a seamless and efficient system to manage submissions, deadlines, and serve as a liaison between Kulfi, Kulfi’s Editor

  • 8 social carousels (10–12 slides each) + captions derived from each story – both for Instagram and Linkedin. You’ll have the help of an external design agency and Kulfi’s internal marketing team for this
  • Cross-platform asset direction for Instagram, LinkedIn, Website per story; run final QC before publishing (tags, copy, alignment, placements).

Qualities and skill sets we would like for you to showcase

  • 4-5 years of experience
  • Strong editorial and content curation skills, with the ability to identify compelling story angles and guide writers in developing unique perspectives.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills to serve as a primary liaison between writers and the internal team, ensuring smooth coordination, clear feedback, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining a network of diverse culture writers and contributors, matched with the ability to assess and onboard new talent effectively.
  • Experience in content programming and designing release calendars to align with Kulfi’s digital content strategy, optimised for audience engagement across IG and Linkedin.
  • Critical evaluation and editing skills to ensure high-quality, well-researched, and insightful content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams—including strategy, marketing, and research teams—to ensure content aligns with broader brand and business objectives.
  • Analytical mindset with strong trend forecasting abilities, able to interpret cultural signals and apply insights to drive forward-thinking cultural movements and brand strategies..
