Project Overview:

Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.The M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will coordinate the recruiting, screening, and processing activities for craft employee positions including journeymen, mechanics, and foremen. You will publish recruitment advertisements, network with employment organizations, create wage bulletins and coordinate accreditation efforts. Your efforts will contribute to meeting team recruiting goals and successful project staffing.

Major Responsibilities:

Level 1

  • Coordinates the recruiting, screening, and in-processing activities for the craft employees’ positions including journeymen, maestros, operators, mechanics, foremen, and general foremen
  • Possesses proficiency in the requisition tracking programs and employee data programs
  • May act as a LR/IR/WFS representative on a smaller-sized construction or maintenance project
  • Monitors existing LR/IR/WFS programs to ensure desired objectives and /or results are being achieved
  • Creates and publishes recruitment advertisements under the supervision of the recruiting supervisor and in collaboration with Communications team
  • Maintains affiliations and engages with recruiting, industry, or employment organizations to promote networking and communications about craft employment
  • Prepares information for craft remuneration activities
  • Creates wage bulletins based on market or union data and performs wage bulletin updates for the project in conjunction with LR
  • Specifies data to be captured in WFS Personnel/HRIS systems, works with Timekeeping/Payroll/Systems teams to homogenize craft data for the project or country
  • Coordinates accreditation efforts, creating accreditation workflows to streamline hiring and mobilization activities, specifying requirements and interfaces with client counterparts or systems. Maintains register of persons who are denied accreditation

Level 2

  • Coordinates within WFS and project team to contribute to recruiting goals
  • Drafts and submits atypical shift applications to the labor authorities in conjunction with LR
  • Collaborates with client, contractor, and or other project personnel to accredit large volumes of craft or non-craft employees for a project or entity

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Level 2

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven experience managing/leading recruitment teams or equivalent
  • Ability to work across multiple systems and software
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Fast paced, dynamic work environment- ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and targets
  • Well-developed effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle high volumes of candidates
  • Must be able to work autonomously as well as in a team
  • Solutions driven, shows initiative and motivated to deliver
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
