Job Summary
Dun & Bradstreet is seeking an experienced in-house Legal Counsel for Regulatory, Compliance & Ethics in Northern Europe, based in Helsinki. This role involves providing expert legal guidance on regulatory areas like privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and financial services regulations. The counsel will collaborate with global and regional teams, advise on data and product matters, track legislation, and champion compliance across the region. The ideal candidate is an ambitious, curious, and adaptable lawyer with a strong focus on data and product compliance.
Must Have
- Provide legal advice and support on regulatory areas affecting data and products, including privacy, data protection, data security, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital accessibility, data transfer and localization, data retention, records retention, advertising, marketing, and content regulation.
- Provide advice and counsel to data and product teams during conception, design, development and go to market.
- Provide advice and counsel on a broad range of regulations including GDPR, Bribery Act, financial services regulations, credit information regulations, ESG and sustainability regulation, privacy and electronic communications regulations, sanctions, AML and trade compliance, and competition law.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure data flows and product risk are appropriately documented and analyzed.
- Serve as a reviewer of impact assessments and controls for data and products.
- Coordinate with commercial legal team members on data, product, and privacy considerations in commercial contracting, promotional materials, and other go-to-market.
- Track and communicate proposed legislation, regulations, and enforcement actions relevant to Dun & Bradstreet’s business activities.
- Support program readiness and reporting on compliance with the regulatory legal areas.
- Support in compliance risk assessments related to regulatory legal areas.
- Represent Dun & Bradstreet Compliance & Ethics in client interactions as needed.
- Champion the Regulatory, Compliance and Ethics program across the region.
- Masters in Law from a Finnish university.
- Minimum 5 years of legal and business practices experience, preferably some in-house.
- Experience related to data protection, product compliance and privacy matters.
- Customer-focused, commercial-oriented, and innovation mindset.
- Comfortable translating complex legal requirements into operational controls for business and technology teams.
- Demonstrates a strong aptitude for evaluating a range of risks and effectively communicating relevant impact to business owners.
- Fluent in English and Finnish.

Legal Counsel – Regulatory, Compliance & Ethics (Northern Europe)
We are now looking for an experienced in house Legal Counsel to join our Helsinki office as a trusted advisor on regulatory, compliance, and ethics matters across Northern Europe. In this role, you’ll provide expert legal guidance, ensuring our operations meet the highest standards while supporting strategic priorities.
As a key member of our regulatory and compliance team, you’ll act as a key connector, building strong bridges between global and regional teams, local operations, and the corporate legal affairs function.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on regulatory areas affecting data and products, including privacy, data protection, data security, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital accessibility, data transfer and localization, data retention, records retention, advertising, marketing, and content regulation
- Working with others in the legal team, provide advice and counsel to data and product teams during conception, design, development and go to market
- Responsible for providing advice and counsel on a broad range of regulations including but not limited to GDPR, Bribery Act, financial services regulations, credit information regulations, commercial credit data sharing, ESG and sustainability regulation, privacy and electronic communications regulations, sanctions, AML and trade compliance, and competition law.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure data flows and product risk are appropriately documented and analyzed.

- Effective coordination with commercial legal team members on data, product, and privacy considerations in commercial contracting, promotional materials, and other go-to-market

Essential skills and qualifications
- Masters in Law from a Finnish university
- Minimum 5 years of legal and business practices experience, preferably some in-house, with experience related to data protection, product compliance and privacy matters.
- Customer-focused, commercial-oriented, and innovation mindset.
- Comfortable translating complex legal requirements into operational controls for business and technology teams.
- Demonstrates a strong aptitude for evaluating a range of risks and effectively communicating relevant impact to business owners.

- Experience with ethical decision-making and supporting a culture of compliance
