Job Summary
Radical Forge is partnering with Beat Games to co-develop exciting music content for their VR title Beat Saber. This key role involves creating new levels (beatmaps and lighting) for the game. Radical Forge, an indie game developer based in Middlesbrough, UK, has grown to over 60 talented individuals, fostering a collaborative and creative culture while working on original IPs like 'Bright Paw' and 'Southfield'.
Must Have
- Work closely with design teams to create great new levels for the game.
- Support the creation of both visual and musical parts of the design.
- Proactively seek and analyse player feedback and incorporate it into new designs.
- Continuously look for improvements for the game.
- Work within technical constraints of the game.
- Understanding the syncopation and has an understanding of complex polyrhythms.
- Expert+ level Beat Saber player.
- Familiarity with the official in-game level editor.
- Familiarity with V3 lighting and mapping in Beat Saber.
- A high level of care and attention to detail.
- Strong customer focus and experience in working with user feedback to inform the roadmap.
- High collaboration skills.
- Ability to be creative working under constraints.

- Avid rhythm games player.
- A music related education or experience as a musician.

Radical Forge, an indie game developer based in Middlesbrough, UK, provides co-development services for both AAA and indie titles. In 2021 the company created their first original IP, 'Bright Paw', which was published on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One/Series S/X, Google and iOS by Rogue Games. We are currently working on our newest IP, Southfield, which you can look forward to playing soon!!

Your Mission
We are looking for a talented Level Designer (Beatmapper) to join our studio to strengthen our design team while we support Beat Games in ramping up their music production over the next year, for their fantastic VR title Beat Saber.
This is a key role in building the future of Beat Saber.
You will be responsible for creating new levels (beatmaps and lighting) for the Beat Saber game.
Beat Games is an award-winning game studio based in Prague, Czech Republic. Their first VR game title, Beat Saber, became an overnight success selling millions of copies worldwide. Through the years, Beat Games has collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the music industry, bringing over 300 songs to the game.

The role can be fully remote.
The role will initially be a 6 month fixed term contract.
