Job Summary

Join Ubisoft Ivory Tower to work on an unannounced project as a Senior Level Designer. You will be responsible for level design and gameplay element integration, building and assembling game levels in collaboration with Level Artists to enrich the player's experience. This role involves documenting, implementing, and refining levels while ensuring technical consistency and collaborating with various development teams.

Must Have

  • Write and update Level Design documentation in accordance with creative direction and GDD
  • Create, implement, and adjust game levels respecting defined rules
  • Ensure layout relevance with existing systems
  • Ensure level blocking and create simplified paper proposals
  • Work closely with various trades involved in game development (artists, game designers, narrative designers, programmers…)
  • Ensure technical consistency of levels respecting production constraints
  • Analyze and correct level design bugs

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of architecture, world setup, and a 360° approach are a plus

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the responsibility of the Lead Designer in charge of the team, you will be responsible for a part of the level design and the integration of gameplay elements. To enrich the player's experience, you will build and assemble game levels and the world in collaboration with the Level Artists.

Main missions:

  • Write and update Level Design documentation in accordance with the creative direction and the GDD
  • Create, implement, and adjust game levels respecting the initially defined rules
  • Ensure the relevance of layouts with existing systems
  • Ensure the blocking of levels and create simplified paper proposals
  • Work in close collaboration with the various trades involved in game development (artists, game designers, narrative designers, programmers, etc.)
  • Ensure the technical consistency of levels respecting production constraints
  • Analyze and correct level design bugs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Solid experience in Level Design, ideally on AAA game productions integrating AI Level Design
  • Good technical knowledge of game engines, vocabulary, and constraints of other trades
  • Good knowledge of blocking, world building, and level building
  • Excellent communication, team spirit, collaborative work, and autonomy
  • Knowledge of architecture, world setup, and a 360° approach are a plus
  • Proficiency in English (written and oral)
