Job Summary

Timi Studio Group, a game development and operations team under Tencent Games, is dedicated to enhancing the entertainment quality for global players. The team is responsible for designing and producing large-scale melee search-and-destroy levels, ensuring the final quality, creating 2D layouts, building 3D whiteboxes, and iterating on level design based on feedback.

Must Have

  • Responsible for the design and production of melee search-and-destroy large map levels, ensuring final level quality.
  • Draw 2D level layouts, efficiently build 3D whiteboxes using engine tools, design and implement level prototypes, and continuously optimize the level experience.
  • Follow up on the entire level production process, coordinating with programming, art, and narrative to resolve issues and implement resources.
  • Timely and effectively iterate on level layout and balance based on test and CE data and feedback.
  • 5+ years of level development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in complete map and gameplay design from a 3D perspective.
  • Able to efficiently use mainstream engines for level whitebox construction and quickly create level prototypes.
  • At least responsible for 1 complete single-gameplay design and development, experienced in gameplay structure, movement design, and mechanics.
  • At least 300+ hours of experience playing search-and-destroy type games, with a good grasp of their core points.

Good to Have

  • Experience with UE large map pipeline and basic Blueprint.
  • Familiarity with UE engine.
  • Experience in multiplayer PVP gameplay map development.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the design and production of melee search-and-destroy large map levels, and responsible for the final level quality.

2. Draw 2D level layouts, efficiently use engine tools to build 3D whiteboxes, design and implement level prototypes, and continuously optimize the level experience.

3. Follow up on the entire level production process, coordinate with programming, art, narrative, and other functions to solve problems and implement relevant resources.

4. Based on test and CE data and feedback, timely and effectively iterate on level layout and balance.

Job Requirements

1. 5 years or more of level development experience, with more than 3 years of experience in complete map and gameplay design from a 3D perspective.

2. Able to efficiently use mainstream engines for level whitebox construction and quickly create level prototypes; experience with UE large map pipeline and basic Blueprint is a plus.

3. Has been responsible for at least 1 complete single-gameplay design and development, with experience in gameplay structure, movement design, and mechanics.

4. Has at least 300+ hours of experience playing search-and-destroy type games, and a good grasp of the core points of such gameplay.

5. Familiarity with UE engine is a plus; experience in multiplayer PVP gameplay map development is a plus.
