Job Summary
The Financial & Accounting Manager at Ubisoft Barcelona leads and oversees the studio's finance and accounting operations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, effective budget control, and compliance with local regulations and group standards. Working with Production and HR, the manager provides financial insights for decision-making, reports to the Studio Manager, and contributes to global financial processes within the Creative House. Key responsibilities include managing accounting activities, budgets, financial reports, audits, and improving financial processes.
Must Have
- Oversee general accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and monthly closings
- Prepare, coordinate, and monitor budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis
- Produce and present monthly financial reports for local management and HQ
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and group policies
- Monitor and control project-related budgets, ensuring proper financial tracking and execution
- Coordinate internal and external audits, acting as the main financial point of contact
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, tools, and internal controls
- Management of the finance and accounting team
- Advise on and ensure compliance with Spanish financial and legal requirements related to R&D subventions and grants
- Manage documentation and reporting obligations for public funding programs
- Leverage data-driven approaches to build business intelligence reports and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver actionable financial insights
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Knowledge of IFRS and Spanish accounting standards
- Understanding of Spanish tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal; or willing to learn Spanish
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities
- Experience in implementing and improving financial processes and controls
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial management tools
- Located or willing to relocate in Barcelona
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and compliance-focused, with a proactive and collaborative mindset

- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
- Prior experience managing a team

Job Description
The Financial & Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and oversight of Barcelona studio’s finance and accounting operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budget control, and full compliance with both local regulations and group-level financial standards.
Working closely with internal stakeholders such as Production and HR, the Financial & Accounting Manager provides reliable financial insight to support decision-making and reports directly to the Studio Manager.
As part of Vantage Finance teams, the F&A Manager will be involved in the global financial processes of the Creative House with frequent interactions beyond the Barcelona Studio with internal finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
