Mainframe System Programmer in zOS & ISVs.

Kavaliro is seeking a Mainframe System Programmer in zOS & ISVs to support a client remotely. The role involves standard system programming activities like configuration, installation, and maintenance using SMP/E, vendor software installations, and operating system upgrades via z/OSMF Workflow. The programmer will also architect and configure complex z/OS environments, support software standardization, and work with various teams to enhance the mainframe environment, identify improvements, and facilitate business initiatives. This position requires 12+ years of experience.

Must Have

• Perform standard system programming activities like configuration, installation & maintenance using SMP/E, and vendor software installations in the mainframe environment.
• Perform Operating System upgrade and RSU maintenance via z/OSMF Workflow.
• Architect, install, and configure highly complex z/OS environments and third-party software.
• Support Software Standardization and new Feature implementations.
• Support other team: storage management, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, networking, and operating procedures from zOS perspective.
• Work with Mainframe System Programmers staff across tracks to enhance the mainframe environment.
• Assist team members to solve problems, make innovative improvements and make decisions.
• Identify and implement system and process improvements in the z/OS environment.
• Work with application support teams and other internal customers to facilitate business initiatives.
• Expertise in performing SMP/E and Non-SMPE Installation of ISV products.
• Expertise in IBM and Broadcom Software product Install and Upgrades.
• Mastery of z/OS system commands, utilities, and automation tools.
• Operating system z/OS V2.5 upgrades or later with z/OSMF workflow execution.
• IODF, HCD Skillset to add new devices.
• Fluent in JCL and IBM Utilities (IEBGENER/IEBCOPY/AMASPZAP/DFDSS).
• ISPF/TSO and other basic.
• Basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST.
• Designing project plan(upgrades, maintenance, decom) with task list for all stakeholders and communicating the timelines with delivery and customer.
• Formulate roadmaps with all pre-requisites to achieve a project completion.
• 12+ years of professional work experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in zOS & ISVs.
