Job Summary
The Manager, Digital Strategy, North America at Virgin Music Group will lead digital marketing partnerships, promotions, and innovation initiatives. This role involves liaising with social media, metaverse, and gaming platforms for collaboration opportunities, advising VMG artist and label partners on overall digital marketing strategy, and monitoring relevant trends. The ideal candidate has a passion for independent music, an entrepreneurial spirit, a professional background in music-focused digital marketing, and an affinity for the gaming/metaverse industries.
Must Have
- Strategize, pitch, and secure artist partnership opportunities with social media platforms and digital content channels/outlets.
- Strategize and project manage artist partnership opportunities with platforms in video game and metaverse spaces.
- Network and expand Virgin Music Group’s rolodex of innovative, forward thinking partners in digital spaces.
- Ideate and execute digital promotions and contesting initiatives for artists.
- Monitor the wider social media and digital landscape for relevant trends, content opportunities and initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal VMG departments to execute effective interactive strategies.
- Author campaign decks and documents for presentation to internal teams, label and artist partners, digital marketing partners and DSPs.
- Liaise with 3rd party vendors in the content creation, fan building and social community management marketplace.
- Manage multiple campaigns in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Maintain professional relationships with artists, label and management partners.
- Troubleshoot administrative and support queries across social media platforms.
- Utilize insights from a variety of analytics platforms to assess campaign performance, amplification opportunities and measure success.

How we LEAD:
Virgin Music Group is currently seeking a Manager, Digital Strategy, North America based in either our New York, New York or Beverly Hills, CA office. The Manager will join a collaborative global team and contribute by leading digital marketing partnership, promotion and innovation initiatives. Responsibilities include liaising with social media, metaverse, gaming and new digital business platforms to collaborate on partnership opportunities for VMG’s roster and catalog. Additionally, the Manager will advise VMG artist and label partners on overall digital marketing strategy.
The ideal candidate has a passion for independent music, an entrepreneurial spirit, a professional background in music-focused digital marketing and an affinity for the gaming/metaverse industries. They will have a strong eye for analysis and thrive in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
How You’ll CREATE:
- Strategize, pitch and secure artist partnership opportunities with social media platforms (TikTok, Meta, Snap, Discord, X, etc.) and digital content channels/outlets for the VMG roster and catalog.
- Strategize and project manage artist partnership opportunities with platforms in video game and metaverse spaces.
- Network and expand Virgin Music Group’s rolodex of innovative, forward thinking partners in digital spaces for artist collaboration opportunities.
- Ideate and execute digital promotions and contesting initiatives for a roster of artists spanning the genres of Pop, Alternative, Rock, K-Pop, Electronic, Hip-Hop and more.
- Monitor the wider social media and digital landscape for relevant trends, content opportunities and initiatives to best serve current campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal VMG departments (paid media, marketing, production, insights, promotion, commercial and program enterprises) to execute effective interactive strategies.
- Author campaign decks and documents for presentation to internal Virgin Music Group teams, label and artist partners, digital marketing partners and DSPs.
- Liaise with 3rd party vendors in the content creation, fan building and social community management marketplace.
- Manage multiple campaigns in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Maintain professional relationships with artists, label and management partners.

- Passion for music focused social media, short form video and content marketing.
- Affinity and cultural fluency in video game and metaverse industries.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud program suite (with focus on After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) and/or Apple iWork (Numbers, Keynote, Pages, etc) program suites.
- Experience with audience and social media music analysis platforms: Chartmetric, Co:brand, MelodyIQ, Trendpop, YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite, etc.
- Must thrive in a team environment but be able to take initiative and work independently.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to create case-studies and campaign reporting decks.
- Degree in relevant field, and/or equivalent career experience.
- Music industry or artist relations experience.
