Toast is expanding into new countries and markets, seeking an Account Executive to be a founding member of its Australian team. This role involves building the business from the ground up, prospecting, building relationships, and signing new restaurateurs in the local Melbourne area. The Account Executive will develop customized solutions to help businesses thrive, requiring operational sales expertise and an entrepreneurial mindset to lay the foundation for sustainable success in the region.

Must Have:
  • Generate list of prospective restaurants and manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting, initial call to close
  • Conduct demos and develop a solution that best meets the prospect’s needs
  • Partner with teams across the business to ensure that expectations set during the sales process are met in delivery
  • Leverage Salesforce (our CRM) to manage all sales activities
  • Understand the competitive landscape and determine how to best position Toast in the market
  • 2+ years experience in a sourcing or closing sales role, restaurant operations, or a relatable field and industry
  • Founder mentality to work on 0-1 deals, and ability (and enjoyment) to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced and new environment
  • Reliable transportation (field position)
  • Strong communication, organisational and presentation skills with the ability to sell and negotiate at all decision-making levels
  • Proven track record of success in meeting and exceeding goals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and team environment
  • Self-motivated, creative, and flexible
  • General technical proficiency with software

To help achieve this mission, Toast is expanding into new countries and markets and so we are currently seeking an Account Executive to serve as a founding member of our Australian team. As a founding Account Executive, this is an opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up, where you will be an early member of our team that is transforming the way restaurants operate locally. Using a consultative approach, you will prospect, build relationships, and sign up new restaurateurs in your local area.

By understanding their unique needs, you will develop a customised solution that helps Melbourne businesses thrive. We need your passion and sales expertise to help us build the Toast brand in your geographic territory.

Your work will have an immediate and lasting impact, requiring a blend of operational sales expertise and a founder/entrepreneurial mindset. As the cornerstone of this function in this region, you will collaborate closely with the RVP and other stakeholders to lay the foundation for sustainable success in the Melbourne region. The role offers autonomy, the chance to navigate ambiguity, and the opportunity to create frameworks, processes, and initiatives that will define the region’s growth for years to come.

This is a field sales opportunity. Candidates must live locally to Melbourne, Australia or be willing to relocate.

About this roll*: (Responsibilities)

  • Since this is a field position, you must have reliable transportation (we will reimburse for mileage)
