MTS 1, Machine Learning Engineer

PayPal is seeking an MTS 1, Machine Learning Engineer to lead ML projects, conduct research, and develop best practices for model management, deployment, and monitoring. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues in credit or collections business, optimizing ML models, and collaborating with other teams for product integration. Candidates should have a Master's degree and three years of experience, utilizing skills in machine learning algorithms, explainable AI, Python, Spark, Hadoop, BigQuery, SQL, and cloud frameworks like GCP and AWS.

Must Have

• Lead Machine Learning Projects
• Conduct research to identify new and innovative Machine Learning techniques
• Develop and implement best practices for Machine Learning model management, deployment, and monitoring
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and Machine learning problems in credit or collections business across geographies
• Innovate to create efficiencies for the team and the business and optimize ML models
• Responsible for documentation, project tracking, and quality controls
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure Machine Learning models are integrated into the product and services
• Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Analytics, Engineering, or a closely related field
• Three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation
• Proficiency in Python
• Proficiency in SQL
• Experience with machine learning techniques and experimental design
• Experience with Big data tools (Hadoop / Spark)
• Knowledge of Kubeflow components and pipeline
• Experience with large-scale data manipulation on cloud frameworks such as GCP or AWS
• Experience with credit underwriting model development
• Experience with model deployment using Docker
• Experience with model monitoring and reporting
• Experience with code testing and quality control
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Partial telecommuting permitted from a commutable distance

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Analytics, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
