Job Description

eBay is seeking an MTS 2, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying highly available, scalable user-facing software applications, building infrastructure with object-oriented analysis and design, and collaborating with various teams to create innovative software solutions. Must Have:

  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and large scale distributed systems.

About the team and the role:

What you will accomplish:

Job Duties: Design, develop and deploy highly available, scalable user facing software applications. Build and implement software infrastructure utilizing object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD). Collaborate with other engineering specialists, architecture, product management, quality assurance, and operations teams to develop innovative software solutions that meet business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and consistency to development principles and product goals. Mentor junior team members and ensure they adhere to determined software quality standards. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus four years of experience in the job offered, as a Software Engineer, or a related occupation.

Salary: $187,741.00-254,200.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
