Job Summary

Join eBay's Network Critical Infrastructure & Engineering software team as an MTS1, Infra Software Engineer. This role involves leading the full project lifecycle, from requirements to deployment, focusing on infrastructure lifecycle automation, network monitoring, and implementing creative solutions. You will work on scaling datacenter network footprint, employing new technology, and defining next-generation tools for infrastructure management with minimal human interaction.

Must Have

  • Lead a project’s entire lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, development, and deployment.
  • Infrastructure lifecycle automation and deployment.
  • Deployment and configuration of monitoring systems for Network Engineering.
  • Maintain software standards and unit test coverage.
  • Implement features and perform bug fixes in existing code base.
  • Work with engineers to develop the most optimal solution.
  • Documentation of software.
  • Data modeling.
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • 2 years experience leading projects or functional areas.
  • Experience in Go, Java, Python.
  • Experience in CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with time-series database technologies (TSDB).
  • Experience with software development standards (SDLC).
  • Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good theoretical foundation in computer science.

Good to Have

  • Familiarity with ChatGPT or Claude Code or another LLM.
  • Strong knowledge of Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller.
  • Experience using Adobe Flex.
  • Solid understanding of routing and switching, TCP/IP protocol stack.

The eBay Network Critical Infrastructure & Engineering software team is looking for a strong developer with a passion for infrastructure lifecycle management, network monitoring, AI, and implementing creative solutions.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a project’s entire lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, development, and deployment.
  • Infrastructure lifecycle automation and deployment
  • Deployment and configuration of monitoring systems for Network Engineering
  • Maintain software standards and unit test coverage
  • Implement features and perform bug fixes in existing code base
  • Work with engineers to develop the most optimal solution
  • Documentation of software
  • Data modeling

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 2 years experience leading projects or functional areas
  • Experience in the following languages: Go, Java, Python
  • Experience in CI/CD practices
  • Experience with time-series database technologies (TSDB)
  • Experience with software development standards (SDLC)
  • Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Preferable: Familiarity with ChatGPT or Claude Code or another LLM
