We are seeking a Network Specialist to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure for a major reinsurance client. This role requires a strong foundation in networking principles, adaptability across technologies, and the ability to work in a dynamic, global environment. The role is fully remote, anywhere in Romania.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless network solutions.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, cloud, and infrastructure.
• Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and transformation initiatives.
• Maintain documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Ensure compliance with client-specific security and regulatory standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or support roles.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, etc.).
• Experience with network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, etc.).
• Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
• Ability to work with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, CompTIA Network+) - nice to have.
• Experience in regulated industries such as finance or insurance - nice to have.
• Exposure to SD-WAN, network automation, or software-defined networking (SDN) - nice to have.
