The ID1 High Volume Manufacturing Shift Equipment Engineer monitors, sustains, and improves equipment, partnering with process teams. Responsibilities include supervising tool performance, scheduling and performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills, assisting with installations, and documenting maintenance to optimize fab performance and prevent excursions.

Must Have

  • Monitor, sustain, and improve equipment performance.
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills.
  • Assist with equipment installations and engineering tests.
  • Build and modify equipment procedures.
  • Increase tool uptime through systematic problem solving and quality workmanship.
  • Thoroughly document all maintenance.
  • Accurately identify and appropriately handle chemicals and associated hazards.
  • Recognize and react appropriately to safety alarms.
  • Improve area/shift KPIs by driving LTD reductions, MA improvements, and excursion prevention.
  • Drive a culture of Total Productive Maintenance.
  • Partner with Equipment Owners and Shift Engineers/Technicians to resolve issues.
  • Drive root cause analysis to permanent prevention.
  • Analyze data with SPC principles to improve process controls and reduce defectivity baselines.
  • Apply DOE principles and/or 8D problem solving methodology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • Flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, fundamentals of electricity, basic electronic components and circuits.
  • Skilled in electrical, vacuum, gas flow and mechanical fundamentals, including using schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to understand and solve mechanical issues.
  • Intermediate to advanced software skills (Python, Java, Tableau, Matlab, MS Office Suite).
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

ID1 High Volume Manufacturing Shift Equipment Engineer is responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment while working in partnership with process team members and area engineers. In this position you will supervise tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to solve and repair equipment issues. They are also required to assist with equipment installations, engineering tests, build and modify equipment procedures, increase tool uptime through systematic problem solving and quality workmanship, and thoroughly document all maintenance. This is a hands-on equipment focused role with time spent in the fabrication facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately identifies and appropriately handles chemicals and associated hazards in work area
  • Recognizes and reacts appropriately to safety alarms (EES, fire alarm, MDA, ERT, etc
  • Improving area/shift KPIs by driving LTD reductions, MA improvements, and excursion prevention to optimize overall fab performance
  • Drives a culture of Total Productive Maintenance including TPM metrics, WS health reports, Continuous Improvement Projects, and MTAGs
  • Partners with Equipment Owners and Shift Engineers/Technicians to implement daily activities to resolve issues that could cause yield loss, excursions, defects, tool restrictions, or output loss
  • Drive root cause analysis to permanent prevention
  • Analyze data with SPC principles to improve process controls and reduce defectivity baselines
  • Apply DOE principles and/or 8D problem solving methodology to identify equipment issues driving unscheduled down.
  • Updates or helps create procedures to align with area and global practices to support training and daily execution
  • Ensures assessor checklists and other documents are kept up to date

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical Engineer. Other related fields may be considered.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed (allowing for flexibility around school schedule where applicable)
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, including fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits
  • Skilled in electrical, vacuum, gas flow and mechanical fundamentals including experience at using schematic diagrams to fix systems to components level
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
  • A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and solve mechanical issues
  • Intermediate to advanced software skills, i.e. Python, Java, Tableau, Matlab, MS Office Suite
