Job Summary
AVER is seeking an Open-Source Intel Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security. The role involves investigating schools for potential exploitation of student and exchange visa programs for criminal purposes. Responsibilities include data analysis, trend analysis, red flag analysis, and statistical analysis, as well as providing information for school and student investigations. The analyst will organize tasks, track profiles, determine lead viability, and document cases using federal systems and local databases. This position requires strong research, analysis, and reporting skills.
Must Have
- Support federal customers with data analysis, trend analysis, red flag analysis, statistical analysis, performance analysis, ad hoc and recurring studies, and stakeholder data requests.
- Provide federal customers information required for school and student investigations.
- Investigate and analyze schools to verify legitimacy or assess potential risk of fraudulent activities.
- Organize and prioritize tasks, track profiles, and determine the viability of leads for investigation across the US.
- Refer or make recommendation for further investigation.
- Utilize various Federal systems of records and locally developed databases to document, track, and monitor the statuses of tasks and cases.
- Bachelors Degree in a related field is required.
- 5+ years of experience with conducting in depth research, analysis, writing and reporting.
- Experience with writing detailed multi paragraph narrative, informational, or investigative reports.
- Experience with writing detailed and in-depth notices, reports, and memorandums following government templates and writing guides.
- Experience with drawing conclusions, formulating detailed “finding reports” including executive level summaries, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Experience with researching federal regulations, conducting in depth analysis, developing and interpreting information to assist stakeholders in decision making, policy formulation, and a variety of other managerial functions.
- Experience with leveraging a variety of databases to research, compile, generate and analyze findings.
- Ability to understand and interpret policy, regulations, and directives.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Experience with Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust).
- U.S. citizenship.
Good to Have
- Knowledge or experience with SEVIS or a related database.
