The Opportunity:

As a key member of the Services team, you will be responsible for the health, scalability, and performance of our production and testing environments. You'll use your expertise in systems, automation, and cloud platforms to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and collaborate with various teams to support our mission of improving global connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain scalable systems for our production and test environments.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Automation: Develop and deploy automation and tooling to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Monitoring: Manage and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify issues.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development and data science, to ensure seamless deployment and management of applications.
• On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
• Procedures: Contribute to the creation and implementation of operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Operations Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a similar role.
• Systems: Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and networking.
• Programming: Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Ruby, or Go.
• Cloud Platforms: Proven experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Tools: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation Range

Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The salary compensation for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 USD/year. Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
