Job Description

The Operations Lead, Sales Compensation, will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely incentive compensation payments for sales payees. This involves managing sales quota and transaction data uploads, processing adjustments, and submitting variable compensation payments to payroll. The role requires in-depth knowledge of the ICM application and the ability to manage deliverables related to process, capability, and reporting. The lead will optimize resource allocation, resolve data issues, act as a central payroll submitter, manage stakeholder queries, ensure adherence to SOX controls, and prepare reports and QBR materials. They will also support UAT and BVT for ICM releases, manage system updates, and prepare the Sales Compensation Operating Calendar. The role involves developing training materials, mentoring analysts, and implementing process improvements through standardization and automation.

Job Details

The Sales Compensation team is responsible for the accurate and timely Incentive Compensation payments for Sales payees governed by the Global Compensation Plan (GCP). Operations area under this team provides support on performing the activities related to sales quota and transaction data uploads, adjustment processing, variable compensation payments submission to Payroll teams within the operating calendar timelines, whilst adhering to SOX and other internal controls. Also provides support to the central capability and reporting teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth awareness and understanding of the Sales Compensation calculation engine – ICM application, front end and back-end system to be able to manage the deliverables on process, capability and reporting side.
  • Optimize resource allocation to manage adjustment volumes effectively.
  • Drive accurate and timely adjustments processing by supporting the team members to deliver.
  • Ensure timely ICM sales transaction data loads, data maintenance activities, maintenance of system reference data and monitoring of scheduled jobs in the application
  • Identify and resolve data or calculation issues in collaboration with the Capability team.
  • Act as the central payroll submitter, generating payroll files from ICM and uploading them to Workday in line with country-specific deadlines.
  • Support Level 2 inquiry management in coordination with the Capability team. Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholder queries related to operational activities.
  • Responsible for Quality Control and takes active measures to improve quality across various activities.
  • Deliver scheduled and ad hoc reports with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and business relevance.
  • Prepare Quarterly Business Review (QBR) materials, including KPIs and insights.
  • Support the nominated team resources during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & Business Validation Testing (BVT) for ICM Capability Releases.
  • Partner with the Capability team to manage ICM System updates and year start activities and with the Regional Managers and Leads for the accurate and timely quota uploads to issue the variable compensation letters in time for Sales Acceleration Summits.
  • Responsible for Sales Compensation Operating Calendar preparation aligning with Global Payroll Calendar and country cut offs.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX and other operational controls for the various activities and other deliverables of the Operations team. Educate the team members and perform periodic checks to ensure adherence.
  • Accountable for the timely and accurate updates to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop training materials and conduct onboarding and refresher sessions for team members.
  • Mentor analysts by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements through standardization and automation

Qualifications & Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of Sales Compensation processes and hands-on experience with Varicent Sales Compensation (ICM) solution (required).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data visualization and analysis capabilities.
  • Strong communication both verbal and written, with active listening abilities.
  • Experience of collaborating with cross-functional teams across global locations.
  • Ability to work effectively within established policies and deliver under tight timelines 
  • Highly analytical approach with a demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and streamline operational processes.
