Job Summary
MatrixSpace is seeking an Operations Specialist to join their growing team. This junior-level role supports the production of portable radar systems for safety and security. Responsibilities include transporting equipment, preparing hardware, performing automated tests, updating and debugging hardware, managing shipments, tracking inventory, and supporting process improvements. The specialist will work with R&D and Operations/Production teams, reporting to the Product Engineer and Operations Manager.
Must Have
- Transport production equipment to and from local contract manufacturer, facility, and field test location
- Receipt and preparation of production hardware including initial validation test
- Perform automated tests including SW load and verification on production modules and product hardware
- Document all tests and results
- Update hardware through use of documented procedures
- Debug test failures through use of documented procedures
- Load, prepare, and ship products to various locations
- Manage workflow and scheduling to meet production or service delivery targets
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend or implement improvements
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze operational documentation (reports, forecasts, SOPs)
- Track and manage inventory, equipment, and supplies
- Utilize MRP or software tools to track workflows and maintain accurate data
- Analyze data to support decision-making and improve efficiency
- Support root cause analysis of product customer returns and perform necessary rework
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Current driver's license
- Ability to lift and move equipment of 60+ lbs
- 2+ years of work experience
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder)
- Ability to travel up to 10%

Operations Specialist

We are seeking Operations Specialist who will be part of a growing, innovative, and efficient Operations team. The position will report to the Product Engineer and Operations Manage and will work with R&D and Operations/Production teams to deliver unique portable radar systems for safety and security purposes. This position is a junior level position that will support production efforts in highly dynamic facets including assembly, test, update, debug, transport, and shipment of various assemblies and products in support of customer shipments.
Responsibilities:
- Transport of production equipment to and from our local contract manufacturer, our facility in Hoffman Estates, and our field test location.
- Receipt and preparation of production hardware including initial validation test which includes organized labeling and minor HW updates/completion.
- Perform automated tests including SW load and verification on production modules and product hardware and document all tests and results.
- Update hardware through use of documented procedures.
- Debug test failures through use of documented procedures.
- Load, prepare, and ship products to various locations.
- Manage workflow and scheduling to meet production or service delivery targets.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, reporting findings to management.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend or implement improvements.
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze operational documentation, such as reports, forecasts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Track and manage inventory, equipment, and supplies to support ongoing operations.
- Utilize MRP or software tools to track workflows and maintain accurate data.
- Analyze data to support decision-making and improve efficiency.
- Support Operations expansion through desk, chair, and related assembly.
- Support root cause analysis of product customer returns and perform necessary rework.
Skills:
- Ability to plan and execute diverse daily instructions while able to react to priority updates.
- Ability to execute documented tests, hardware rework, and debug procedures.
- Familiarity with driving large residential vehicles such as a cargo van.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, good interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
- Current driver's license.
- Ability to lift and move equipment of 60+ lbs.
- 2+ years of work experience.
- This position requires working directly or indirectly with the US Government in restricted environments. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (Green Card holder).
- Travel up to 10%.
