This full-time permanent Payroll Analyst role at NRMA Group involves leading payroll compliance, interpreting legislative changes, overseeing payroll processing, managing audits, and driving key projects like Same Day Super. Must Have
- Lead compliance requirements for the Payroll Accounting function.
- Work closely with Payroll Manager and Employee Relations to interpret and implement legislative changes.
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure compliance with National Employment Standards, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
- Manage payroll audits, policy reviews, and ensure regular checklists for data accuracy.
- Drive key projects such as the Same Day Super initiative and lead end-of-month, end-of-financial-year, FBT, and group tax payroll processes.
- Provide support for Corporate payroll and backfill for payroll officer roles.
- Undertake audits, reconciliations, and manage payroll tax at multi-entity and state levels.
- Foster stakeholder relationships across the business and contribute to team development activities.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting with a relevant tertiary qualification.
- At least 5 years’ experience in payroll, with demonstrated expertise in payroll tax processing across multiple entities and states.
- Advanced investigative and reconciliation skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Developed written and verbal communication skills.

What You’ll Do
We have a full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to play an integral role in leading the compliance requirements for the Payroll Accounting function. The Payroll Analyst will provide governance for the People & Culture operation to ensure legislation, policies and processes are compliant.
This role is a hybrid work opportunity where you will be required to work across our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices as well as some work from home.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the compliance requirements for the Payroll Accounting function, ensuring all legislation, policies, and processes are up-to-date and followed.
- Work closely with the Payroll Manager and the Employee Relations team to interpret and implement legislative changes, including EBA updates, salary adjustments, allowances, and entitlements.
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure compliance with National Employment Standards, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements across multiple group entities.
- Manage payroll audits, policy reviews, and ensure regular checklists are in place for data accuracy.
- Drive key projects such as the Same Day Super initiative and lead end-of-month, end-of-financial-year, FBT, and group tax payroll processes.
- Provide support for Corporate payroll and backfill for payroll officer roles during periods of absence or peak times.
- Undertake audits, reconciliations, and manage payroll tax at multi-entity and state levels.
- Foster stakeholder relationships across the business and contribute to team development activities.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting with a relevant tertiary qualification
- At least 5 years’ experience in payroll, with demonstrated expertise in payroll tax processing across multiple entities and states
- Advanced investigative and reconciliation skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Developed written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to and understanding of People & HR Systems (preferred not essential)
