Job Summary
This on-site Principal Scientist role at SGS involves providing technical support and oversight on clinical studies, serving as a principal or sub-investigator, and acting as a primary on-site technical liaison for cross-functional operations. The role also includes managing and coaching a small team of Principal Investigators, identifying and filling technical gaps, and developing new capabilities. Travel for scientific purposes is also required.
Must Have

- Develop structured plan to identify and nurture internal scientific talent as principal investigators
- M.S with 5+ years experience or Ph.D with 3+ years of relevant experience conducting or supervising clinical research
- 2+ years as principal investigator in the field of skincare, personal care or dermatology clinical research
- 1+ year of supervisory experience
- Handling and operating sophisticated clinical research bioinstruments

Job Description
- The principal scientist position is an on-site high impact role in the science team. Reporting to the Scientific Director and closely partnering with the Principal Investigators and Operations team to provide technical support and oversight on clinical studies.
- Serves as a principal investigator or sub-investigator on studies (2-3 studies/year, and may reduce over time)
- Actively provide technical support to Principal Investigators by closely working with them through entire life cycle of their clinical study/project
- Serve as primary on-site technical liasion to support cross-functional operation teams - Clinic, support team (writing, statistics, image analysis), and quality
- Manage and coach a small team of Principal Investogators
- Work with clinic manager to identify and fill the technical gaps to improve testing methods, design and conduct pilot studies to develop new capabilities (new instruments or new applications of exisiting instruments)
- Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Develop structured plan with Scientific Director to identify and nurture internal scientific talent as principal investogators
- Travel for scientific purposes (conferences, technical oversight of studies at Physicians clinic, etc)
Qualifications
- M.S with 5+ years experince or Ph.D with 3+ years of relevant experience conducting or supervising clinical research
- 2+ years as principal investigator in the field of skincare, personal care or dermatology clinical research
- 1+ year of supervisory experience
- Handling and operating sophisticated clinical research bioinstruments
