As a Product Services Category Manager in Google's Procurement Organization, you'll drive innovative category and sourcing strategies, build strategic supplier relationships, and optimize spending categories using data-driven insights to unlock value for Google. You'll develop and execute category strategies aligned with organizational objectives, build and maintain supplier relationships, manage sourcing strategies and processes, and analyze spending patterns and market trends to identify value opportunities. You'll also generate reports and insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation within the category.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of experience in multi-disciplined procurement
  • Experience leading strategy development, execution and sourcing
  • Analyze procurement data, generate reports, and provide insights
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology and analytical tools
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Excellent project management skills
Good to have:
  • Certification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management
  • Experience developing and managing KPIs

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, Business, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in multi-disciplined procurement, leading strategy
    development, execution and sourcing or a related function.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience developing, managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and metrics to measure category performance and track progress.
  • Proficiency in analyzing procurement data, generating reports, and providing insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation within the category.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology and analytical tools to enhance category management practices and drive decision-making.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains to enhance category management practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead projects or initiatives aimed at improving procurement processes or driving innovation within a category.

Within the Google Procurement Organization, the Category Management team partners closely with key stakeholders to help shape and implement procurement strategies. The Category team is responsible for developing and driving holistic category strategies, managing stakeholder relationships, and bringing excellence to Google-wide sourcing, supplier, and contract management.

In this role, you will be responsible for pioneering innovative category and sourcing strategies, cultivating strategic supplier relationships, and optimizing spend categories through data-driven insights to unlock value for Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of category strategies aligned with organizational objectives for assigned indirect spend categories.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Support execution of sourcing strategies, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within designated categories.
  • Analyze spending patterns, market trends, and identify value opportunities within the category.
  • Analyze procurement data, generate reports, and provide insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation within the category.
