Job Summary

The Product Specialist at Morningstar Wealth is responsible for empowering investor success through world-class investment products and technology solutions. This role involves leading requirement gathering, user story development, and driving the end-to-end process of defining and prioritizing business needs. The specialist will engage with stakeholders, guide software development teams, conduct in-depth analysis, and ensure quality control. They will also oversee the product backlog and provide training, focusing on wealth management.

Must Have

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in Product Management.
  • Proven ability to take strong ownership of product delivery.
  • Deep understanding of wealth management products and services.
  • Agile expertise.
  • Strong experience in user experience (UX) and user story mapping.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and break down requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in continuous delivery and integration environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job responsibilities:

As a Business Analyst, you will:

  • Lead requirement gathering and user story development in collaboration with Product Managers, Developers, Designers, and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Drive the end-to-end process of defining, analyzing, and prioritizing business needs while ensuring alignment with customer and business objectives.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
  • Guide software development teams in designing, building, and delivering impactful solutions with a strong focus on wealth management.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and propose data-driven solutions to enhance product offerings and user experience.
  • Define and document user stories, behavior-driven development (BDD) cases, and acceptance criteria in alignment with subject matter experts.
  • Perform gap analysis and provide strategic recommendations to enhance product capabilities and improve business processes.
  • Oversee and prioritize the product backlog, working closely with teams to ensure smooth delivery and execution of product roadmaps.
  • Ensure quality control through peer reviews, project deliverable sign-offs, and compliance with best practices.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior analysts and stakeholders, ensuring a seamless transition of product changes to clients.
  • Lead functional, exploratory, and user testing efforts, ensuring that products meet business and customer expectations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner within the Product Management domain.
  • Proven ability to take strong ownership of product delivery, driving execution from concept to completion.
  • Deep understanding of wealth management products and services, with experience in financial technology or investment platforms preferred.
  • Agile expertise with experience working in iterative, fast-paced environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong experience in user experience (UX) and user story mapping, ensuring optimal product design and functionality.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information, break down requirements into actionable insights, and influence strategic decisions.
  • Hands-on experience in continuous delivery and integration environments, ensuring smooth product rollouts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of defining and developing practical, business-oriented solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with common cloud-based software tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to mentor others while continuously improving processes and best practices.
