Job Description

The Program Manager will join the Tactical Vehicles and Systems activity at the La Ferté Saint Aubin site, specializing in land and airborne weapon systems. This role involves managing production or development programs for high-potential products within the VTS-France Projects Directorate. The manager will be responsible for contractual commitments, financial results, client interface, project structuring, team leadership, resource tracking, and risk management, coordinating with partners and various internal functions in a highly industrial and technical environment.
Must have:
  • Responsible for contractual commitments (performance, deadlines) and financial results (cost control, revenue, and margin)
  • Ensure interface with clients, build and maintain a successful relationship, and ensure client satisfaction
  • Responsible for managing contract clauses, potential renegotiation, and seeking new business opportunities
  • Ensure project structuring: allocated credits, organization, and planning
  • Lead a multi-skilled team, ensuring motivation through proximity and quality communication
  • Ensure proper declaration of charges and monitoring of assigned resources
  • Master and manage project risks and opportunities
  • Participate in the improvement dynamic
  • Coordinate partners, internal collaborators, and subcontractors, ensuring activity coherence
  • Liaise with purchasing, legal, quality assurance, PMO, and security functions
  • Hold a Bac+5 degree
  • Have experience/skills in Program Manager tools and processes
  • Have experience in product development project management
  • Possess the ability to arbitrate technical and contractual issues within your team
  • Be capable of analyzing project risks and opportunities and anticipating a Contract Management approach with the client

Your daily life

Within the Tactical Vehicles and Systems activity, the La Ferté Saint Aubin site specializes in the production of land and airborne weapon systems (mortars, ammunition, rockets, etc.), force protection systems, and zone control. With its 450 employees, engineers, technicians, and specialized workers, the La Ferté Saint Aubin site ensures research and development, production, testing, as well as all the "support" functions necessary for the design of high-performance systems essential for the success of operational missions. Thales, with the German defense group DIEHL, has formed a Joint-Venture "JUNGHANS T2M" with 165 employees, allowing the two companies to combine their electronics and precision mechanics skills and thus become one of the world leaders in the field of ammunition fuses. This Joint-Venture is also present on the La Ferté Saint Aubin site.

Within the Projects Directorate of the VTS-France Domain, your techno-industrial aptitude and your Program Management skills will allow us to offer you responsibility for managing a production or development program for products with strong future potential.

As a project manager:

  • You are responsible for meeting contractual commitments (performance, deadlines) as well as the planned financial result (cost control, revenue, and margin);
  • You ensure the interface with our clients for your part, create and maintain a relationship favorable to success and ensure their satisfaction;
  • You are responsible for managing contract clauses, potential renegotiation, and seeking new business opportunities with our client;
  • You ensure the structuring of projects: allocated credits, organization, and planning;
  • You lead a multi-skilled team and ensure its motivation, particularly through your proximity to the teams and the quality of your communication;
  • You ensure the proper declaration of charges and monitoring of assigned resources;
  • You master and manage the risks and opportunities of the entire project.
  • You will participate in the improvement dynamic.

Due to the very industrial and technical nature of this activity:

  • You also ensure the coordination of partners, internal collaborators, and subcontractors, guaranteeing the coherence of activities,
  • You ensure the link with purchasing, legal, quality assurance, PMO, and security functions.
  • And you are surrounded by a passionate and exciting technical/industrial team

Your profile

Holding a Bac+5 degree, you have experience/skills in:

  • Tools and processes associated with Program Manager responsibilities
  • Product development project management
  • Your ability to arbitrate technical and contractual issues within your team related to the project
  • Project risk and opportunity analysis as well as anticipating a Contract Management approach with the client
