Lead cross-functional teams in the industrialization of new products, ensuring successful introduction and optimization of manufacturing processes. Guide and empower your team to deliver on process development, implementation, and continuous improvement, while adhering to Philips standards. Oversee the translation of product specifications into manufacturing and process requirements, manage project resources, planning, quality, and cost for industrialization projects.
Must Have
- Lead teams for process development activities for product industrialization projects.
- Drive Capex optimization for initial investments.
- Lead sourcing decisions for equipment suppliers and collaboration with them for turn-key solutions.
- Ensure adherence to applicable processes for product introductions, qualifications, and release.
- Embed Design for Lean Manufacturing in PDLM processes.

- Ensure process and equipment capability meets defined requirements.
- Promote and apply lean manufacturing principles.
- Manage resources, planning, quality, and cost (including Capex) for industrialization projects.
- Ensure execution of processes and standards in compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements, as well as local laws and Philips General Business principles.
- Take ownership for project costs (including Capex) between 0.5 and 5 million euros.
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or project leadership.
- Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of business processes, Design for Six Sigma, and operational excellence (including Lean Manufacturing and problem solving).
- Skilled in design for manufacturing, assembly, and testability.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, take ownership of decisions and actions, and are able to drive root cause investigations.

Job Description
Your role:
You will lead cross-functional teams in the industrialization of new products, ensuring the successful introduction and optimization of manufacturing processes. As Project Leader, you are responsible for guiding and empowering your team to deliver on all aspects of product industrialization, from process development to implementation, while maintaining compliance with Philips standards and driving continuous improvement.
You are responsible for:
- Leading teams that initiate and execute process development activities for product industrialization projects.
- Driving Capex optimization for initial investments.
- Leading sourcing decisions for equipment suppliers, and leading collaboration with these suppliers for to ensure turn-key solutions.
- Ensuring adherence to the applicable processes for product introductions, qualifications, and release.
- Embedding Design for Lean Manufacturing in PDLM processes.
- Overseeing the translation of product specifications from Innovation & Development (I&D) into manufacturing and process requirements.
- Ensuring process and equipment capability meets defined requirements.
- Promoting and applying lean manufacturing principles.
- Managing resources, planning, quality, and cost (including Capex) for industrialization projects.
- Ensuring execution of processes and standards in compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements, as well as local laws and Philips General Business principles.
- Taking ownership for project costs (including Capex) between 0.5 and 5 million euros, and stopping processes if safety or quality is at risk.
You are a part of the Product Industrialization Engineer team. This team is part of the supply and is responsible for ensuring the successful introduction and optimization of manufacturing processes. You will be based in Drachten and will report directly to the Site Manufacturing Engineering leader of Drachten.
You’re the right fit if:
- Passion for technology, operations & automation. Apart from leading also the willingness to go deep when needed.
- You have a Master’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or project leadership.
- You possess strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
- You have a solid understanding of business processes, Design for Six Sigma, and operational excellence (including Lean Manufacturing and problem solving).
- You are skilled in design for manufacturing, assembly, and testability.
- You demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, take ownership of decisions and actions, and are able to drive root cause investigations.
Location:
This role is based in Drachten and requires on-site presence as needed.
