Job Summary

This role focuses on managing large-scale, multi-stream implementation projects for key clients across Japan. Based in Japan, the Project Manager will oversee all aspects of packaged software implementation, leading multiple work streams and a team of colleagues from Japan and globally. Responsibilities include resolving project issues, ensuring customer satisfaction, managing budgets, and maintaining compliance with implementation methodologies.

Must Have

  • Manage multiple, concurrent consulting projects of moderate to high complexity
  • Resolve project issues including budget, timeline, and scope
  • Provide regular project communication and status reporting
  • Manage project quality to ensure customer satisfaction and ROI
  • Build collaborative relationships that increase customer's perception of value
  • Lead project team in the resolution of customer project issues
  • Collaborate with appropriate Blue Yonder resources on customer's business, organization and culture
  • Facilitate Change Request process during active projects
  • Identify project resource requirements and update appropriate systems
  • Create and manage project budgets, invoice process and Accounting process
  • Manage A/R for all Consulting Projects
  • Maximize margin on Consulting projects
  • Maintain Customer and Project sites within Blue Yonder tools
  • Coordinate and facilitate system handover to Support Services
  • Provide guidance, feedback, coaching, mentoring and developmental experiences to project team
  • Ensure compliance with Blue Yonder’s implementation methodology
  • Able to perform Blue Yonder project quality audits
  • Maintain the Global Project dashboard for active projects and manage remedy plan
  • Manage Project Teams of 3 to 12 Associates, including self
  • Travel within JAPAN region as required for project success
  • Minimum 5+ years enterprise application software implementation project management experience
  • Proven track record delivering large scale complex projects
  • Successfully managing projects of at least USD750k in value, on-time and on-budget
  • Outstanding presentation, facilitation, communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly organized and ability to multi-task on multiple workstreams
  • Customer-focused account and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the consulting services offering and complexity of implementations
  • Understanding of broad competitive services market
  • Demonstrated relationships with Industry system integrators
  • High comfort level and presence with senior executives
  • Experience and success selling implementation consulting services
  • Ability to manage project challenges and risks with proposed mitigation plans
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal skills required in Japanese and English

Good to Have

  • Experience in S&OP, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Factory Planning, Warehouse Management or Transport Management
  • Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, Agile)
  • Manufacturing planning experience
  • Retail Supply Chain experience
  • 3PL experience

Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple, concurrent consulting projects of moderate to high complexity
  • Resolves project issues including budget, timeline, and scope
  • Provides regular project communication and status reporting
  • Manages project quality to ensure customer satisfaction and ROI
  • Builds collaborative relationship that increases customer's perception of the value Blue Yonder brings to their business and expands future business opportunities
  • Leads project team in the resolution of customer project issues, escalating to appropriate parties as needed
  • Collaborates with appropriate Blue Yonder resources on customer's business, organization and culture to strengthen customer relationships
  • Facilitates Change Request process during active projects
  • Identifies project resource requirements and updates appropriate systems to drive forecast and resource needs
  • Creates and manages project budgets, invoice process and Accounting process for the various types of project (i.e., time & materials, fixed bid, milestone acceptance, etc..)
  • Manages A/R for all Consulting Projects to ensure payments are processed within the negotiated terms
  • Maximizes margin on Consulting projects
  • Maintains Customer and Project sites within Blue Yonder tools
  • Coordinates and facilitates system handover to Support Services
  • Provides guidance, feedback, coaching, mentoring and developmental experiences to project team
  • Ensures compliance with Blue Yonder’s implemenation methodology on each Consulting project
  • Able to perform Blue Yonder project quality audits
  • Maintain the Global Project dashboard for their active projects and manages remedy plan for escalated Consulting projects
  • Manages Project Teams of 3 to 12 Associates, including self
  • Travels within JAPAN region as required for project success

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5+ years enterprise application software implementation project management experience, with a proven track record delivering large scale complex projects.
  • Experience in S&OP, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Factory Planning, Warehouse Management or Transport Management experience is highly advantageous.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects of at least USD750k in value, on-time and on-budget. Outstanding presentation, facilitation, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized and ability to multi-task on multiple workstreams
  • Customer-focused account and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the consulting services offering and complexity of implementations.
