Must Have

Project Managers for Northern Norwegian construction projects sought for Alta, Tromsø and Leknes
Do you want to lead construction projects that actually matter to the local communities around you?
WSP is strengthening its project management environment in Northern Norway and is now looking for more project managers.
WSP is a global consulting and advisory company that combines engineering expertise with strategic advice to develop communities that provide good lives. The company has over 75,000 employees in more than 50 countries, around 450 of them in Norway, and a strong and growing professional environment in Northern Norway.
WSP currently has 28 employees in Northern Norway and works mainly with public clients, but also with private actors. Our projects range from smaller development assignments to large and complex construction projects in the order of 200-500 million kroner, and we often act as the client's development department from early phase to completion.
From the office in Alta, we work on some of the largest projects in the region, especially within school and health, which require clear project management and coordination of large interdisciplinary teams. In Tromsø, we have a broad and varied project portfolio including purpose-built buildings, commercial properties, infrastructure, quays, harbors, and industry, with both public and private clients. In Leknes, we are particularly looking for experienced project management expertise.
Responsibilities and tasks
As a project manager at WSP, you will play a central role in the implementation of construction and property projects, with responsibilities adapted to your experience and competence. The tasks will include:
- Project management and/or client representative roles in building and construction projects
- Safeguarding the client's interests through all project phases - from early phase and needs clarification to completion and operation
- Responsibility for progress, economy, quality, risk and HSE
- Coordinate and lead interdisciplinary project teams with internal and external actors
- Contract management, change work and reporting to the client
- Contribute to good decision-making bases and clear communication with customers and partners
- Build long-term relationships and contribute to the further development of WSP's project management environment in the region
Desired qualifications
We are looking for candidates with different backgrounds and experience levels. Relevant competence may include:
- Higher education in construction, civil engineering, real estate, architecture, engineering, spatial planning, economics, law or project management
- New graduates with relevant education are encouraged to apply for positions in Alta and Tromsø, but some form of relevant experience will be required in addition.
- Experience from building and construction projects is an advantage, especially within project management, construction management or from contractor operations
- Leadership and project experience is a plus, especially for more experienced candidates
- Good understanding of public procurement and interdisciplinary collaboration is desirable
- Good language skills in Norwegian and English, oral and written
Particularly relevant experience can compensate for formal education.
