Job Summary
WSP Argentina is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer in Mendoza to lead the technical and financial management of hydraulic engineering projects. The role involves ensuring technical and economic quality of deliverables, strengthening client relationships in the mining industry, and providing technical guidance to teams. The ideal candidate will also prepare work plans and proposals for surface water consulting services and identify new client opportunities.
Must Have
- Manage technical and financial aspects of projects, ensuring satisfactory results.
- Provide technical guidelines and quality control for deliverables.
- Establish and maintain relationships with mining sector clients.
- Prepare technical, commercial work plans and proposals for surface water consulting.
- Participate in identifying clients and opportunities related to mine water and hydraulic design.
- Civil Hydraulic Engineer degree or related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in similar positions.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Hec-Ras, Hec-HMS.
- Experience in hydraulic works design, surface water management, numerical modeling, technical writing, supervision, and water balance.
Good to Have
- Master's or Postgraduate degree desirable.
- Proficiency in GoldSim and Flo-2D (preferable).

About this opportunity:
We are looking for a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our team in the Mendoza office.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the technical and financial management of hydraulic engineering projects, ensuring the technical and economic quality of deliverables, and strengthening relationships with strategic clients in the mining industry.
Responsibilities:
- Technically and financially manage projects, conducting periodic reviews to ensure satisfactory results.
- Provide technical guidelines to area teams and ensure quality control by reviewing deliverables before sending them to the client.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients in the mining sector across projects, operations, and at a corporate level, promoting the company's services.
- Prepare technical, commercial work plans and proposals for surface water consulting services.
- Participate with other senior professionals in identifying clients and opportunities, focused on projects related to mine water and hydraulic design.
Requirements:
- Academic Background: Civil Hydraulic Engineer degree or related field. Master's or Postgraduate degree desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 12 years in similar positions.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Design of hydraulic works (channels, sedimentation ponds, desanders, intakes, discharge structures).
- Conceptualization, planning, and design of surface water management systems.
- Understanding of hydraulic and hydrogeological phenomena and their representation in simplified models.
- Numerical modeling and interpretation of results.
- Technical writing and mastery of technical terms associated with the specialty and support areas (hidrología, geotechnics, construction).
- Supervision and construction of hydraulic works.
- Water balance calculations.
- Software:
- Autodesk Civil 3D (preferable).
- Hec-Ras and Hec-HMS (advanced).
- GoldSim and Flo-2D (preferable).
