Job Summary

WSP, a global consulting and professional services firm specializing in strategic advisory, engineering, and design, is seeking a CQA Supervisor for Mining projects in Ancash. The role involves ensuring compliance with CQA plans, supervising contractor quality control, verifying field tests and lab assays, and ensuring adherence to technical project requirements. The supervisor will also manage quality deviations, conduct audits, and coordinate with construction quality control to ensure project quality and timely completion.

Must Have

  • Comply with CQA Project Plan and WSP CQA Project Management Plan.
  • Supervise contractor's construction quality control plan implementation.
  • Verify field tests and lab assays according to frequency and regulations.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with technical project requirements (plans, manuals, specifications, etc.).
  • Verify calibration of all measurement equipment with valid certificates.
  • Review, verify traceability, and approve Contractor's Quality Dossier documents.
  • Propose and apply modifications to optimize time and costs, ensuring formal documentation.
  • Timely alert on quality deviations in materials, products, or processes.
  • Manage observations and non-conformities, ensuring adequate root cause analysis.
  • Conduct audits to verify and ensure quality of materials and processes.
  • Review and ensure compliance with topographic controls and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring.
  • Generate and submit deviation tracking documents (SVRs and NCRs) and follow up until closure.
  • Review, verify traceability, and validate project component approval protocols.
  • Issue reports with findings and recommendations for critical issues.
  • Coordinate daily activities with construction quality control supervision (CQC).
  • Prepare and present the final CQA report for the project or work front.
  • Comply with internal policies and procedures of the Integrated Management System (Quality, Environment, Safety, and Health at Work).
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of CQA experience in shoring, injection, and concrete works in tunnels.
  • Availability to work in Ancash under a work regime.

  • Diploma, courses, or specialization in quality or construction project management.
  • Driver's license.

Main functions of the position:

  • Be responsible for complying with the guidelines established in the Project's CQA Plan and WSP's CQA Project Management Plan.
  • Supervise compliance with the implementation of the contractor's construction quality control plan, which will be validated and approved by WSP.
  • Verify compliance with field tests and laboratory assays, mainly in the critical activities identified in the project. Ensuring that tests and assays are carried out in accordance with the frequency and regulations established in the Project's technical documents.
  • Know, understand, and ensure compliance with the Project's technical requirements, including plans, manuals, technical specifications, technical data sheets, quality and calibration certificates, field instructions (IDT), and specific external standards applicable to the project in its latest revision.
  • Verify that all measurement equipment used in the Project is calibrated, with valid certificates and appropriate calibration labels.
  • Review, verify traceability, and approve the documents that make up the Contractor's Quality Dossier, in accordance with the CQA plan and CQC plan.
  • Propose and apply modifications or improvements that optimize time and costs, ensuring formal documentation and approval from all involved parties.
  • Timely alert on quality deviations in materials, products, or processes to provide solutions that can avoid impacts on the project.
  • Manage observations and non-conformities, verifying that adequate root cause analyses are applied by the Operations Contractor or the Quality Control area.
  • Conduct audits to verify and ensure the quality of the materials and processes used in the project.
  • Review and ensure compliance with topographic controls and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Generate and submit deviation tracking and control documents such as Surveillance Reports and Non-conformity Reports (SVRs and NCRs) to the constructor or project executor. Also, carry out control and follow-up of these until their respective closure.
  • Review, verify traceability, and validate the project component approval protocols, carried out by the quality control area and is responsible for keeping an updated release log.
  • Issue reports with findings and recommendations to identify and resolve critical issues that may affect design and construction.
  • Coordinate daily activities with construction quality control supervision (CQC).
  • Prepare and present the final CQA report for the project or work front.
  • Comply with the internal policies and procedures of the Integrated Management System for Quality, Environment, and Occupational Health and Safety in the activities performed, among others.

Professional background:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Geological Engineering and/or related careers.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CQA for projects in shoring, injection, and concrete works in tunnels and/or similar.
  • Desirable with a diploma or courses or specialization in quality or construction project management or related topics.
  • Desirable with a driver's license.
  • Availability to work in Ancash under a work regime.
