Job Summary
WSP Argentina is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist for its Water team. The role involves leading complex hydrogeological studies for the mining industry, both in the field and in the office. Key responsibilities include aquifer characterization, groundwater source evaluation, mine-aquifer interaction analysis, and water quality management, ensuring robust technical solutions for large-scale mining projects.
Must Have
- Lead hydrogeological studies in all stages: design, execution, and analysis.
- Actively participate in mining projects involving drilling campaigns, hydraulic tests, and groundwater monitoring.
- Develop and validate conceptual and numerical hydrogeological models (MODFLOW, FEFLOW, PHREEQC).
- Evaluate drainage of open pits, tailings dams, waste dumps, and other operational facilities.
- Provide technical support in design, environmental evaluation, and mining operations.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients, authorities, and communities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water resource permits.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and lead interaction with stakeholders.
- Professional degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in hydrogeological studies applied to mining.
- Experience in large-scale and highly complex technical projects.
- Proficiency in hydrogeological modeling tools (Leapfrog, Aquifertest).
- Advanced knowledge in numerical modeling (MODFLOW, FEFLOW, PHREEQC).
- Proficiency in GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and water permits.
Good to Have
- Postgraduate degree in Hydrogeology (Master's or specialization desirable).
- Experience in interaction with communities and environmental authorities.
