Job Summary

Quest Global is seeking a Regional Chief Engineer to lead technical proposals, conduct reviews, and ensure the technical health of work packages. This role involves driving the design and development of mechanical systems, leading cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering and 15-20 years of experience in technical development activities, with strong project management and communication skills. This is a hybrid role based in Indianapolis, IN, requiring U.S. citizenship.

Must Have

  • Lead technical proposals to customers and support sales campaigns
  • Conduct technical and deliverable reviews on work completed before delivery to customer
  • Monitor the technical health of work packages
  • Create and maintain Standard Work and Work Instructions
  • Conduct service-specific training
  • Manage, update, and create training material
  • Support training initiatives as needed
  • Support root cause analyses and improvement actions
  • Support service capability development through creating collateral, conducting Technology Excellence Demonstrators and pilot projects, and partnering with Sales and Managers on campaign initiatives
  • Support technical capability assessments of the team members in your service
  • Ensure the pool of technical reviewers is maintained for your program
  • Participate in international communities in your field and build industry network
  • Support hiring by conducting technical interviews and training other technical interviewers
  • Maintain metrics for technical delivery activities like on time delivery and right first time
  • Drive the design and development of mechanical systems and components to meet customer requirements
  • Analyze and evaluate designs for strength, durability, and performance
  • Lead cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality control, and suppliers
  • Continuously improve design processes and methodologies
  • Stay current with industry standards and regulations
  • Guide and develop employees and managers on their individual technical career paths
  • Mentor and train junior engineers
  • Represent the company in customer and industry meetings
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to the design engineering team
  • Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering, or a related technical field
  • 15-20 years of career experience
  • Experience in leading technical development activities
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in leading project presentations
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to commute to Indianapolis, IN 3 days required on-site
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Pay Range: $150,000 - $180,000 a year

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements: We offer flexible work options, including hybrid arrangements, to support the need of the role and align with company policies. This position is located in Indianapolis, IN and is considered hybrid with 3 days required on-site.

  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Travel Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, 5% of travel is required.

Citizenship Requirement: Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
