Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer - Mining

WSP, a global consulting and professional services firm, is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer for the mining sector. This role involves designing medium and low voltage electrical systems, power, lighting, and auxiliary systems for mining plants, including distribution substations, lightning protection, and grounding. The engineer will also be responsible for preparing technical specifications, measurements, and electrical calculations, contributing to sustainable environments and fostering innovation within a diverse and inclusive team.

Must Have

• Bachelor's or degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical system design for the mining sector
• Ability to design medium and low voltage electrical systems, power, and lighting
• Proficiency in preparing technical specifications and measurements
• Experience in designing electrical systems for mining plant substations
• Knowledge of auxiliary electrical systems for mining plants
• Expertise in lightning protection and grounding system design
• Capability to perform electrical calculations and MTOs
• Availability to work in person in Miraflores

Good to Have

• Intermediate/Advanced English language proficiency
• Proficiency in ETAP software
• Proficiency in Digsilent software

Main functions of the position:

• Prepare the design of medium and low voltage electrical systems, power, lighting, preparation of technical specifications and measurements.
• Design of medium voltage electrical systems for power distribution substations for mining plants.
• Design of auxiliary electrical systems for mining plants.
• Design of lightning protection and grounding systems.
• Perform MTOs and electrical calculations.
• Comply with the internal policies and procedures of the Integrated Quality, Environment, and Occupational Health and Safety Management System in the activities performed, among others.

Professional background:

• Bachelor or Graduate of Electrical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 03 years of experience in electrical system design for the mining sector.
• Desirable with intermediate/advanced English language proficiency.
• Desirable with ETAP software proficiency.
• Desirable with Digsilent software proficiency.
• Availability to work in person in Miraflores.
