The Proposal Manager at TransUnion leads strategic, competitive, and compliant proposal efforts, driving revenue growth by responding to RFPs, RFIs, and vendor forms across commercial and public sector markets. This role involves disciplined project management, deep solution expertise, and seamless collaboration with Sales and Solutions Consultants. The manager will lead proposal engagements from pre-RFP planning through post-submission activities, ensuring timely, compliant, and customer-focused deliverables, and contribute to enhancing the team's infrastructure and operational effectiveness.
Must have:

  • Ability to lead productive proposal teams across functions
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in deadline-driven environments
  • Experience following standardized proposal development processes and industry best practices
  • Minimum of 4 years in proposal management, project management, or sales operations/support
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and basic publishing/document management tools
  • Familiarity with collaboration platforms (MS Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive), CRM tools (Salesforce.com), and proposal automation/content management systems
Good to have:
  • APMP certification preferred
  • Business writing and editorial experience a plus
  • Additional industry training in Proposal Management (e.g., Shipley Associates) preferred

The Proposals team at TransUnion is a high-performing group of experienced, engaged, and professional associates who deliver strategic, competitive, and compliant responses to RFPs, RFIs, and vendor forms across commercial and public sector markets. Their work directly drives revenue growth by enabling wins through disciplined project management, deep solution expertise, and seamless collaboration with Sales, Solutions Consultants and other SMEs. With a focus on quality, responsiveness, and brand alignment, the team plays a critical role in elevating TransUnion’s market presence and supporting the success of our sales organization.

Reporting to the Director of the Proposals team, the Proposal Manager is a key contributor who leads the execution of proposal efforts and drives initiatives that strengthen the team’s infrastructure and operational effectiveness. This role applies best practices to ensure disciplined, efficient proposal development, while also enhancing tools and processes for content management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Proposal Manager identifies and resolves barriers to progress, escalates when needed, and champions improvements that elevate the team’s performance and its ability to support Sales with high-impact, revenue-generating proposals.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience following standardized proposal development processes and industry best practices (e.g., Shipley, APMP).
  • Minimum of 4 years in proposal management, project management, or sales operations/support; APMP certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and basic publishing/document management tools.
  • Familiarity with collaboration platforms (MS Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive), CRM tools (Salesforce.com), and proposal automation/content management systems (e.g., RFPIO/Responsive).
  • Business writing and editorial experience a plus.
  • Additional industry training in Proposal Management (e.g., Shipley Associates) preferred.

Impact You'll Make:

  • Lead proposal engagements from pre-RFP planning through post-submission activities, ensuring timely, compliant, and customer-focused deliverables.
  • Collaborate directly with Sales and Solutions Consulting teams to understand customer needs and translate them into compelling proposal materials.
  • Organize and manage proposal schedules, compliance matrices, author assignments, and response templates.
  • Facilitate proposal status calls and manage collaboration sites to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Support the creation and refinement of executive summaries, win themes, capability statements, SOWs, graphics, and marketing collateral.
  • Ensure submitted content is captured for reuse in the team’s IP repository.
  • Conduct post-submission activities such as lessons learned sessions, satisfaction surveys, and development of client success stories.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects aimed at enhancing the Proposal Team’s infrastructure, service offerings, and overall impact on TransUnion’s revenue and booking goals.

This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.
