Job Summary

Job Description

The R&D Engineer (Electronics Products) will ensure compliance of P1 projects with platform product configurators, validate design review conclusions, and manage de-standardization requests. This role involves tracking RFQs, supporting R&D and Process PTMs in proposal building, and validating product configurations. The engineer will also represent the platform in technical committees, manage engineering changes, analyze incidents, and train local P1 teams on product standards. They will connect development sites with platform expertise.
Must have:
  • Check that all P1s comply with the Platform product configurators
  • Participate and validate DR conclusions regarding compliance to standards defined by the Platform
  • Validate PCA, Compliance matrix, Newness level, mitigation plan
  • Check DSRs (DeStandardization Requests), and ensure follow-up with the proper Standard Owner
  • Ensure proper application of SCOs in ongoing P1s
  • Participate to the TMMs (Technical management meeting)
  • Report to the platform manager a monthly summary of ongoing RFQs and passed CAAVs
  • Assist the R&D PTMs on building the proposal for each RFQ based on Platform standards
  • Participate to the DR0
  • Validate the product configuration in coordination with the standard owner of the platform configurator
  • Make sure that DR0 conclusions regarding standards and specific developments are pushed to the CAAV
  • Attend all technical committees - Engineering Changes are considered as well as any Process Changes related to the Platform perimeter
  • Check that any change is pushed to the correct workflow: either ECR/ECO or SCR/SCO
  • Ensure application of SCOs in the site
  • Analyse incidents/red alert for timely support and resolution, confirm what did we learnt and LLC
  • Finalize present LLCs to STD committee for STD improvement
  • Analyse the warranty LLCs and give recommendation to push/or not to the relevant standardization committee
  • Be the local ambassador of the Warranty treatment for the Platform
  • Be the certified trainer for the Platform in charge to train local P1 teams
  • Ensure that the technical documentation is up to date in coordination with the Platform
  • Collect the needs of the Development Centres / Manufacturing Sites in terms of support / expertise
  • Provide access to the relevant Platform inputs
  • Identify the relevant Technical Platform resources and connect them with the Site teams

Check that all P1s comply with the Platform product configurators

  • Participate and validate DR conclusions regarding compliance to standards defined by the Platform in its configurator (Fixe Variable Specifics), these standards being related to both Product AND Process
  • Validate PCA, Compliance matrix, Newness level, mitigation plan
  • Check DSR s (DeStandardization Requests), and ensure follow-up with the proper Standard Owner.
  • Ensure proper application of SCOs in ongoing P1s (refer “bridge” in DR check list)
  • Participate to the TMMs (Technical management meeting)

Track all ongoing RFQs, and Support R&D + Process PTMs during RFQs phase

  • Report to the platform manager a monthly summary of ongoing RFQs and passed CAAVs
  • Assist the R&D PTMs on building the proposal for each RFQ based on Platform standards, provide directives when necessary
  • Participate to the DR0,
  • Validate the product configuration in coordination with the standard owner of the platform configurator (delegation is possible)
  • Make sure that DR0 conclusions regarding standards and specific developments are pushed to the CAAV with R&D and Process recommendations (list of risks and ratings formalized), and list of DSR

He/she is the Platform representative during the Technical committees (ECR/ECO, SCR/SCO, Warranty LLC)

  • Attends all technical committees - Engineering Changes are considered as well as any Process Changes related to the Platform perimeter
  • Check that any change is pushed to the correct workflow: either ECR/ECO (Variable and Specific) or SCR/SCO (Standards = Fix), both for Product and for Process
  • Ensure application of SCOs in the site
  • Analyse incidents/red alert for timely support and resolution, confirm what did we learnt and LLC and finalize present LLCs to STD committee for STD improvement
  • Analyse the warranty LLCs and give recommendation to push/or not to the relevant standardization committee
  • He/She Is the local ambassador of the Warranty treatment for the Platform

Train all the local P1 teams to Product Standards of his/her platform(s)

  • He/she is the certified trainer for the Platform in charge to train local P1 teams
  • Ensure that the technical documentation is up to date in coordination with the Platform

Connect the Development / Manufacturing Sites with the expertise and support of his/her platform(s)

  • Collects the needs of the Development Centres / Manufacturing Sites in terms of support / expertise and:
  • Provides the access to the relevant Platform inputs, or
  • Identifies the relevant Technical Platform resources and connect then with the Site teams
