Job Description

The Safe Environments Specialist at Wabtec's Grove City Remanufacturing plant will lead Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, ensuring compliance with regulations like air permits, hazardous waste, and storm water. This role involves solving problems, executing EHS objectives, participating in incident investigations, supporting safety initiatives, and conducting annual trainings. The specialist will also maintain SPCC/PPC compliance, manage RCRA/DOT waste, and lead on-site safety teams, functioning as the Radiation Safety program leader.
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with 4 years of experience)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in environment, health and safety
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of safety professionals
  • Proven ability to utilize lean, 5s, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to adapt and flex in a dynamic UX environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, improve culture, and influence
  • Ability to follow up & follow through
  • Strong track record of coaching & team engagement skills
  • Knowledge in US regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA and Pennsylvania requirements)
  • Ensure plant compliance with all recordkeeping and reporting requirements of the plant’s air permit and large quantity generator of hazardous waste status
  • Ensure compliance with recordkeeping, reporting, and sampling requirements in accordance with storm water
  • Maintain compliance with SPCC/ PPC
  • Maintain compliance with residual and RCRA/ DOT waste regulations
  • Participate in Incident Investigations
  • Support the safety initiatives
  • Support Ergonomics projects and drive to completion
  • Support Emergency Response Team
  • Communicate effectively with management and hourly
  • Conduct annual trainings
  • Lead various on-site safety teams
  • Function as the Radiation Safety program leader for the site
  • Help facilitate the site’s Concern Reporting and other additional programs

How will you make a difference?

The Safe Environments Specialist for Grove City Remanufacturing will demonstrate leadership in communicating Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) goals, programs, and processes to the Grove City Remanufacturing plant. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. This position requires working on-site as an essential function.

What about the physical demands of the job?

  • Exposure to shop floor requires wearing PPE.
  • Walking, climbing, stooping, bending, lifting is all part of the hands-on learning process.

The salary range for this role is between [INSERT SALARY RANGE FROM COMP & BENEFITS TEAM]. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
