Job Description

The Sales Manager will be responsible for account, commercial, and sales management of digital and physical distribution relationships. This includes developing business performance across key accounts, achieving revenue and profit targets, managing sales of new releases and catalogue titles, identifying and developing channel partnerships, and creating business plans. The role also involves commercial business development functions such as green light processes, peripherals partnerships, and tech partnerships. The role requires strong sales experience, negotiation skills, and excellent communication.
Must have:
  • Good sales experience (5+ years) in an entertainment Sales role

Job Details

Kalypso Media Group is an independent publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software with more than 170 employees at a total of ten locations in Germany, England, France, Japan and the United States. Four of the Group's development studios in Germany , together with other international games developers, ensure a steady stream of new computer and video games for all modern premium platforms, such as the world-famous "Tropico" series, "Commandos" and "Railway Empire".

At our headquarters in Worms, Germany, we are looking for a Sales Manager (m/f/d) Video Games.

Main responsibilities:

  • Account, commercial & sales managment of digital & physical distribution relationships
  • Develop the business performance of Kalypso Media’s range across agreed key accounts
  • Achieve volume, net revenue and profit targets for an agreed account base in-line with annual budgets and targets
  • Account, commercial & sales management of digital accounts
  • Manage and develop sales of new release and catalogue titles through distribution or licensing deals
  • Identify and develop key channel partnerships within account base and beyond - including Asia partnerships
  • Create, present and implement annually and title specific business plans across the whole accounts base
  • Plan effective and timely presentations for new release titles
  • In conjunction with the marketing and PR team - create and implement effective trade marketing campaigns to target and deliver market share, in line with Kalypso Media Games and customer expectations
  • Commercial Business Development functions including but not limited to:
    • Green light process
    • Peripherals partnerships
    • Tech partnerships
    • Merchandise and Licensing

Skills and Experience:

  • Good sales experience (>5 years) in an entertainment Sales role
  • Professional negotiation skills
  • Keen eye for detail and an understanding distribution and Licensing agreements
  • Good commercial understanding and judgement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and energetic team-leader
