Electronic Arts (EA) is looking for a Senior AI Data Scientist to shape the future of content creation and gameplay using AI in the animation space. The role involves building, fine-tuning, and implementing AI/ML models for challenging animation problems, ensuring scalable and repeatable production pipelines. Responsibilities include applying deep learning and natural language processing techniques, collecting and analyzing large datasets, and integrating AI solutions into products. The ideal candidate will optimize AI models for performance, analyze data for insights, and document findings for stakeholders. Experience with DevOps tools, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and game engines is a plus.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of experience in data science
  • Deep learning expertise
  • Fluent in Python and SQL
  • Automate ML models and build end-to-end products
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD, Docker)
  • Interest and expertise in animation
Good to have:
  • 1+ year working in animation AI/ML
  • PhD or MSc in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field

  • C++ and game engine experience

As a Senior AI Data Scientist you will


  • Build, fine-tune and implement AI and machine learning models to solve challenging problems within the animation space

  • Ensure AI and machine learning production pipelines are scalable, repeatable and tool agnostic

  • Apply current and emerging techniques in deep learning, natural language processing and other machine learning areas to expand the animation space

  • Collect, clean, manage, analyze and visualize large sets of data using multiple data

platforms, tools and technique

  • Work in partnership with game teams to integrate AI solutions into products and services.

  • Optimize and fine-tune AI models for performance and scalability. Analyze and interpret data to extract meaningful insights and improve AI models. 

  • Document and present findings and solutions to stakeholders. 



Desired qualifications and experience

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in data science

  • A minimum of 1+ years working in the animation space of AI/ML

  • PhD or MSc in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field

  • Strong expertise in deep learning, fluent in Python and SQL

  • Expertise in automating machine learning models and building end to end products

  • Experience with devops tools and principles (Git, CI/CD, Docker)

  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

  • C++ and game engine experience is a plus

  • Interest & expertise in animation is desired

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $133,400 - $193,200 CAD

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
