Job Description

Working closely with the production team, the Senior Animator will create high-quality animations, bringing creatures, characters, objects, and vehicles to life according to the project vision. This role involves collaborating with production staff to deliver animated sequences aligned with client vision and project briefs, animating in various styles, performing Mocap cleanup and 3D rotomation, and utilizing Maya for visual effects-intensive projects.
Must Have:
  • Work with Production Staff to provide animated sequences that align with the Client’s vision and the project brief.
  • Ability to animate in various styles (creatures, realistic humans, motion capture, vehicles, complex characters, objects, cameras).
  • Sufficient capability in Mocap cleanup and 3D rotomation for FX.
  • Proficiency with animation software (Maya) for visual effects-intensive projects.
  • 5 years of professional experience in VFX and Animation for Films and TV.
  • Expert knowledge of traditional animation principles for Hard Surface and Character Animation.
  • Strong knowledge of animation rigging/set-up and 3D character animation.
  • Expert knowledge of Maya.
  • Strong understanding of scene layout to match plates.
  • Excellent artistic skill set with a full understanding of animation and a strong sense of composition.
  • Knowledge of the software and hardware used in the post-production process.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Visual Effects and associated pipelines.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive, with the ability to lead a creative vision.
  • Work should demonstrate the ability to define character, create fluid motion, organic movement, and storytelling.
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends when a project calls for it.
  • Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be eligible to work in Quebec, Canada.

The Role:

Working in close collaboration with the Production Staff, the Senior Animator will create top-notch animations and bring creatures, characters, objects and vehicles to life according to the project vision outlined by the Lead and/or Supervisor.

Your Daily Tasks:

  • Working with the Production Staff to provide animated sequences that align with the Client’s vision and the project brief as outlined by the Supervisor.
  • Ability to animate in various styles (creatures, realistic humans, motion capture, vehicles, complex characters, objects, cameras, etc.) as required on assigned project(s)
  • Sufficient capability in Mocap cleanup and 3D rotomation for FX
  • Proficiency with animation software (Maya) for visual effects-intensive projects
  • Other miscellaneous duties as required from time to time by the Animation and CG Supervisor

We are looking for:

  • 5 years of professional experience in VFX and Animation for Films and TV
