Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop setups for the different stages of production in 3D and solve potential problems
- Create photo-realistic and stylized environments in 3D and 2.5D
- Create modeling, textures, shading, lighting, scattering, animation(camera and basic mechanical) for objects, environments, or full scenes
- Work closely with the CG and Environment Supervisors and Production to find creative and technical solutions and to meet deadlines
- Be comfortable creating procedural workflows in Houdini and Speedtree
- Be able to deliver work within established project targets and the high quality standards of the company
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working in a similar role
- Experience modeling, texturing, layout, scattering and lighting for high-end projects
- Thorough understanding of 3D and 2.5D VFX processes and production pipelines
- Experience working with shoot data including photographic and reference data, HDRIs, photogrammetry, and Lidar
- Proven experience developing photo-real environments
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the natural world (geology, geography, and meteorology) and architecture (design and engineering)
- Knowledge of Houdini
- Knowledge of Maya
- Experience with procedural city generation and scattering tools an advantage
- Experience with Solaris and advantage
Additional Requirements:
- Must live in Montreal and already be eligible to work in Canada. It is not possible to provide work visa or relocation assistance for this position.
